Upon introduction, the E320 Wagon is equipped with a standard 3.2-liter, V6, 221-horsepower engine that achieves 20-mpg in the city and 27-mpg on the highway. The E55 AMG is equipped with a standard 5.5-liter, V8, 469-horsepower, supercharged engine that achieves 14-mpg in the city and 21-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.

The 2003 E320 Wagon is a carryover from 2002. The E55 AMG has been redesigned for 2003.
