2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
There are 8 user reviews for the E55 AMG trim shown below
- More than enough power. Quality interior and exterior. Most fun to drive.
- Gas mileage is 15.5 average
This is the most fun you can have for less than $100k. Where else can you get a four door with luxury and performance. Best car I have ever owned.

- This is the END
- Let me make up one.
I had the its younger brother, C55AMG, traded it in with E55AMG. I do not regret even in my dream having this car.
Everything is superb. 469 hp. Ha! don't even stand close to it will be blown away.

- I can't drive it when I'm sleeping
Unbelievable. Need to drive to appreciate. Drive every other car first because with the E55 the search is over. A porsche becomes too slow. This is "Daddy's car". The last car you will ever own.

- Looks good
- Seats could've been better, limited top speed, average handling.
Aren't Benzes supposed to be sports cars???? Well, this one ain't. First, the seats weren't that cozy, and 2nd, what's with the governor-limited 155 mph top speed? Real sports cars do not have this handicap. End of story. And finally, I'm sad to say that this car handles like a Hyundai with a flat tyre. But thankfully, the M-B at least looks good, I'll give it that....read morehide

- very responsive, handles like a dream, very fast
- exhaust a little to loud, electronics not user friendly
I have had my car now since Jan., I still do not know how to use all the electronic features on it. You have to scroll through all the menus to get to what you want. For example, if you want to know the temp outside, you have to scrowl through several of the optional menus to get to the one you want. One will give you fuel econcomy and miles traveled and time, one the tire pressure, another, next service, another Navagition status, and on and on. I think all this should be re-thought a little. Why not desplay the things most of want to know, like time, outside temp, fuel economy, distance travel and fuel all in one. A nice video from the manufacturer on how to use all this would go a long way, even the sales staff can not figure out all of it for you either, they have to rely on each other, as no one knows it all it seems. Eventually I will have time to read and review all the features. The car has had no problems and fuel economy is better than advertized, it a great car, but really to expensive, mine loaded up stickered at $95500....read morehide

- FUN to drive. a vibrant vehicle.
- wish the maintenance came with the 2005's
After 5 BMW's (the latest 745 was just too technical) this is really the car to own. Conservative, with power to spare. What a car!

- "469 bhp," driveability
Though the seats do require you to upgrade top the active seating(which is utterly wonderful) unless you like stting on benches, the fact that you can carry 5 passengers and beat a 360 modena in the 1/4 mile is amazing. Also, it is very understated in appearence. Our neighbor, who is well to do, recently rid himself of his E55 in "exchange" for a Bently GT and SL65. Loves the 65, doesn't like the bently, and complains of the inconviences of both cars. Before this one, I had a E320 with sport package and an E320 without the sport package. The active suspension and active seating are two very recomended options. Perhaps the happiest I have been with a car regardless of trim level....read morehide
