- Great and smooth acceleration. Responsive handling with a comfortable level of road feel. The finish
- Rough idling when engine is cold. Interior roof panel slides back each time the car is accelerated.
This naturally aspirated version engine is now devoid of the familiar surge lag of the supercharged version of 95-E55, but the transmission still bangs when acceleration is aborted before you apply the brakes sometimes especially when you are slow to do so. Even though the 97 E63 has more HP at 507 as compared to 95-E55's 469, this car somehow feels a bit slower, although the clock speed appears to be about the same. The interior shade of sunroof lacks the stopper detent that it slides back each time the car is accelerated, which is untinkable in a Lexus. The increased use of LED in front and rea lapms make the longevity of them to improve. The rear fog lamp, if given at all, should be not just on the left side but both, as they are useful. The front fog lamps are not very powerful. The expensive tires wear so fast (6,000 - 7,500 miles). As a total product, it is a thundering success. I liked the 95-E55's supercharged engine better on this vehicle, however.
