- LOOKS GREAT, BUT....
- SERIOUS SUSPENSION ISSUES
Purchased As Used
Purchased the 08 E350 (CPO) for my wife and toddler, and we're experiencing serious trouble with the front suspension. Front tires are being chewed up on the inside edges. Big flat spots, and cupping on tires, and premature wear are creating unbearable road noise. Despite all this, our greatest concern is that tires may blow out at freeway speeds and cause an accident.
MBZ dealer acknowledged there is a problem with the 'ride height' on the E350s. According to the dealer, MBZ HQ instructs their mechanics to correct this issue by installing SPACERS (“shims”) in the struts to raise the height. Yes, spacers in a $55K MBZ, just like you'd alter the suspension on a Ford F150 truck! (I thought, you're kidding me!) But, we went along with it; six months down the line – problem has not been resolved. Tires are still wearing unevenly and cupping (2nd set). I called MBZ HQ and filed a complaint (4 different times) and the rep was snooty and didn't really seem to care. He claimed it was repaired 'under factory specs'. I have two words: MICKEY MOUSE! I'm under the impression that there are many others experiencing this issue. Anyone care to comment?
My wife and I 'were' loyal to the MBZ brand. I have a 98 E320 with 257K still running strong. Our family is growing, was looking into getting the ML500. However, it's truly disappointing that their craftsmanship has truly deteriorated. Perhaps, it’s not an engineering issue, but their manufacturing process is certainly evidently flawed. But they won't admit to it, nor provide adequate fix. We will never buy another MBZ! Buyer be aware! caveat emptor...read morehide

- Beautiful exterior lines; great performance; unrivaled comfort and interior features
- None so far
Purchased As Used
Bought our E-350 sport model two months ago and just completed a 2 week trip to Oregon from Southern California. 2600 miles later, we can't be more pleased with the ride, comfort, and overal performance of the car. It handled the twisty, winding roads of the California 1 through Big Sur and the mountain roads of the Cascades. We could drive in this car for 10 hours a day and still feel fresh and ready for more. It is a wonderful car and we look forward to taking it on other road trips across the country. Averaged 25 mpg. We have owned BMW's and Porsche. Great cars and this one deserves it's place at the top of our list of luxury cars to own....read morehide

- Beautiful, handles effortlessly, 25 mpg, fast, quiet.
- I have low profile tires that bend with the pot holes in New Jersey
Purchased As New
I have had Audi and Lexus. This is by far the best car I have ever had. More room than the BMW 5 series. Handles great. Soaks up bumps, but still corners great. 6 cyl has unbelievable power. Controls are logical and not complicated.

- pick 6.5 seconds to 65mph
- GPS is too lowsy. Can you believe it. It does not take the house number
The door upholstery is cheap. If you wipe the dirt a few times, the
fiber material gets loose easily--hard to describe-- This is definitely cheap material.
The gps does not take the number of the house. The cheapest Gps that is available takes the number of the house. It gives you the street, once you reach the streat it goes "you have reach your destination".
There is no tech-support on the Gps. It is suppose to be NAV-TEQ.
Do not hold your breath--nobody knows about it--
This is just for starter... Too many to mention....
By the way, I am still using my Garmin 680. It is extremely better, plus, you do not have to pay $199 for the disk upday every year...
Garmin GPS is so good, you do not have to look at the screen.
Plus it is touch screen. Mercedez is not, and its screen is hard to clean.........
Somebody sue Mercedez on their GPS...

- appearance exceptional -SPORT PACKAGE STIFF RIDE.
- materials cheap, all plastic,no shifting gate, instead a piece of cloth with a bow?
2008 MB E350 AWD WITH A HIGH PITCH NOISE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT. OWNED MB IN PAST. I STILL OWN MY FIRST MB, A 1992 300D, AND A GREAT CAR. WITH THE 2008 I HAVE NOT SEEN MORE JUNK IN ONE PILE EVER. I'M AN OLDER PERSON, AND HAVE PURCHASED MANY CAR/TRUCKS IN MY LIFE WITH OUT INCIDENT. THIS IS THE WORST. IN ABOUT THREE MONTHS THE CAR HAS BEEN INTO A MB SHOP SIX TIMES. AND, AFTER THE LINDON,UTAH MB SHOP REPLACED THE SERPENTINE BELT/POWER STEERING PUMP, AND THE NOISE PERSISTED,THEY DECIDED THE NOISE IS NORMAL. CONSEQUENTLY MB CORPORATE ALSO SAID, THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE SIDE OF THE DEALER AND CONSIDER THE NOISE AS NORMAL. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND NOR WILL I EVER DO BUSINESS WITH LINDON,UT MB,...read morehide

- Enjoy the compliments regarding the style of the car
- I have had 3 major blowouts with the low profile tires from relatively small pot holes.
April 2008 - Park Place Mercedes on Lemmon Ave in Dallas, Texas called and stated my car was ready for pickup from the last blow out on my 2007 E350 with low milage and I paid a nice price for repairs!!! Guess what??? I drove the car on the same afternoon, in route to pick up my son from school, and noticed that the car was out of line, driving to the right, on the same side the right front tire blew out that I had just paid them for. Well the tire blew out again no pot holes in sight within hours of picking it up from the dealership. This could have cost me and my son our lives. The service manager acted in an uncaring manner and the service and staff are lousy. I have purchased 4 Mercerdes Benz from this same dealership and I will never set foot in it to buy another one....read morehide

- Still classy looking; Great highway cruiser at 90mph +; Roomy back seat
- Reliability rates poor; Sub-standard materials; Drinks gas like an SUV; Needs regular dealer visits
Went from a Lexus GS350 to a BMW 530 to a Lexus GS350 to a Mercedes E350. I think the Mercedes is the better looking of the bunch but lacks in everything else.
The good points are few- very classy looking, I still get compliments.
I do a lot of higway driving and this car feels like its going 40 when I do 90. Its quiet and smooth.
The dash layout is ok. It would be a lot better without the COMAND system which is almost as bad as the iDrive system in BMW.
Three people can fit comfortably in the back seat and in the front the seats are wonderful.
Now the rest-
With only 2000 miles, the car already needed service. Wiper motor sensor position thingy turned bad.
Memory seats have alzheimers. Everyday its a different position.
The interior is poor quality especailly for this price. The glovebox is one example. Cheap plastic everywhere. At first you don't see it but then after a few months you notice little things are not tight and the plastic hinges are about to fall off.
The Panoramic sunroof is awesome BUT the sunroof needs to close properly and requires attention. If not then you must open it again and reclose it to make sure it is closed so water will not come in.
Rear sunshade popped out of track and visibility was hindered.
Door handle on drivers door is "peeling" and looks like it was made in China. Perhaps it was with the rest of this nightmare.
The trunk lid does not line up. Both sides ahve different spaces. The left has 1/8 of an inch, the other side has almost 1/2.
The right tail light is burned out already and dealer has replaced it two times.
Passenger side mirror motor ceased. Replaced.
Transmission logic controls replaced. They needed 3 days because they wanted to make sure it didn't happen again.
The service is good almost excellent but the car itself is a disastor. If this is where Mercedes is going, I will never buy a Mercedes again. Next time, I'll shop at Cadillac. Good Luck to all. Buyer Beware!...read morehide

- Great performance and handling........stopping power is awesome !
My first Mercedes, and it is everything I expected and more. I love the styling ( both inside and out ), great performance and stops on a dime. Is it worth $55k.............I say YES.

- Very good looking car, much better than the BMW or even the new Jaguar XF
- No Blue tooth standard, I think the Navigation could be a little more friendly!
I have just traded the Infiniti M35 and had a M45, I think the luxury is definately European, but I tell you this is a classy car and for the money I think you cannot go wrong in the E350. It is a little sluggish in the get go compared to the M35 but I like the car a lot!
