- Nicest looking SUV ever, closely followed by LR Defender 90
I have a '97 Yellow LR Defender and its amazing, especially in the summer with the top off. I now have a '05 G500 also, and this is my going out truck. The G500 is the nicest truck ever made and being able to drive this truck is an honor.

- A car with Character. Born tobe a classic
I am about to buy ...Finally... my G500. Getting some money loan and selling a few things (including other cars) I have pursued this car for many years and this will be my opportunity.
I have driven some G500 previously and is a Superb car.
The only thing that still think can be improved is the back seat design. Too tight for three and no arm rest for two... For the rest this is a perfect car for someone that can afford to buy it and use it.
I have been waiting so long for this day....read morehide

- Utilitarian looks, high driving height, solid
- handling not great, heavy drive, stiff ride, quality not worth the price
I bought G-Wagon in 2002 and I had problems from the electrical to the transmission. I guess I bought when JD Powers rated Mercedes as one of the worst quality auto makers. Its pretty good when there is no problems, currently I'm having a CD changer problem, glad its still under warranty. As for the vehicle itself it's decent, the drive and ride is nothing to write home about but you will probably get a couple of looks for it because of its boxy shape. It drives stiff and the handling is ok for an SUV. The only vehicle I would compare this to is an H1 (which I also own), between the two get the G-Wagon its cheaper, more practical and you get better service and warranty....read morehide

- economical engine, made in Germany, high quality
- expencive costs
After Unimog and Land Rover Defender the most off-road capable car in the world! The quality is very high and you have so much fun if you are cruiseing or just driveing off-road.

- Everything except for its gas mileage
About a week ago, my parents gave me the keys to my G500 as an early graduation and 18th birthday present and I have been loving it ever since. Today, its all about having a SUV but the Mercedes-Benz G series really stands out from the crowd. I was driving my dad's escalade prior to this and there is no comparison (other then the fact that with both SUV's you get some bad gas, but thats to be expected). Living here in southern california, its extremely superficial and this car will totally get you some looks. Whether the looks are good or bad, the point is people are still looking at you either way. Anyway, the G500 is strong and bold in its appearance, it drives/handles and accerlates well and its truly an amazing driving experience. Its an expensive car but totally worth every cent. Yet another amazing car from the Mercedes-Benz heritage....read morehide

- Turning Radius, Gas Consumption
- Rugged, Collectible Item, Unique Feeling to Drive
This vehicle is definitely different from the crowd. In Southern California where most people drive large SUV's, this is the only one with a character.
Hand made, out of production in 2005 and imported to US since 2002. About 6,000 in the US. This is one of the reasons I bought this truck. It is already a classic (in LA inorder to get attention with a car, you need to drive a Ferrari, but since this is so rare, you notice people looking inside the car to see if you are a celebrity). Well I bought this car as I am in construction business and this is the only car that can do hard work (towing, going anywhere you could see) and make you feel driving a classy car. It is like driving a Porsche and Ford F-250 simultaneously....read morehide
