Purchased As New
I was comparing the usual brands/models: mercedes GLK350, bmw X3, audi Q5. The X3 and Q5 have higher base price due to more standard features such as AWD but the GLK can be bought as RWD only (save almost $2K). The build quality is great as this is my first MB and I am impressed considering I have owned BMW and Audi as well. I bought a new, base 2013 GLK350 with only RWD and it has all the basic features you need including automatic A/C, power windows/locks and bluetooth for the phone. It even comes standard with the new 302hp V6 direct injection engine and 19 inch wheels! You can pay more for options like sunroof and navigation. It was the summer sales event at the MB dealer and they were getting ready for 2014 models to come in so I got the car for over $6000 under MSRP. Highway mileage is near 27mpg, well over the stated 25mpg. City mileage is bout 18mpg, close to the stated 19 mpg. Two cars seats for the kids fill up the back row and no room for a third person in between. Handles great, drives well and is fairly quiet.
