Purchased As New
I month after we bought it: check engine light always on, cracked manifold; At 15k miles, brakes are gone, rotor had to be machined; at 35k miles, all interior lights out; at 40k miles, tranmission leaks, bearing gone, clearcoat peeling off. Spent $4k on the transmission leak, $700 on clear coat. Worst car I ever had in my life (Im 56 yrs old), compared to my other cars: 17 yr old toyota van, 11 yr old camry; 10 yr old RL3.5, 10 year old honda, and 14 yr old T100 Toyota truck. I also have a 2006 SLK 350 which I rarely drive now because Im afraid it might also break. I will be trading in the ML with a Lexus RX 350 this week. The ML and the SLK are my first and last MB's. I had to try them and all I got was disgust.....read morehide

- Technology is so 90's
Purchased As Used
Picked this up for $8k plus a 2006 Jeep Liberty in trade. prices have collapsed - a $44k sticker car for $18 3 year later means its pretty much depreciated. Much nicer ride than many SUV's - has Bose stereo, leather, sunroof, wood interior trim. The dealer spent 2k on service so Im assuming the thing will be reliable for a couple years - 2 more years on the warranty. After 3 years in someone else's home I'm expecting that all the problems that needed to be fixed have been fixed and except for the cost of on-going maintenance it should be ok. My dealer was FANTASTIC, odd enuf....read morehide

- Pros
- Safety, style, comfort, reliability oh and safety.
- Cons
- Any cons are negligable
I had previously written a review of my ML 350. It was involved in a colision that had totalled it. Aside from just a bit of soreness I not only walked away from the crash but the car even limped home 30 miles.
You can buy cars that may be a bit prettier. You can buy cars that are less expensive. You may even be able to buy a car that has better fuel mileage.
I don't think that you'll be able to find a safer car at any price.
If you care about your life, and the lives of your family, buy a Mercedes-Benz....read morehide2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- it is comforting, big, spaceish
- Cons
- radio will automatic decreased or increase volume when you stop and go
This is a car that people should have because it is comforting when there is long or short road trips. They have a very good service that helps you whenever you need help. They have free car wash at the dealer ship and the price of the car is average so people can buy a car taht will last a long time and affordable. It is a car to be in and there car system is really hi-tech so even if youo were lost they know your location and will sent help out ASAP. There info button is also help for knowing wheater, traffic, and many more....read morehide

- Short brake and tire life.
I purchased my 2003 ML 350 as a program vehicle from a local Mercedes-Benz dealer. At 12 months of age and 10,000 miles I paid less than $30k. I felt as though I got a good deal.
The car has run well and strong albeit a higher fuel consumption than I'd expected prior to purchase. However, the trade-off is that you are driving a varitable tank of a vehicle which need not yeild to much other than a wall.
Copious placement of airbags, great sound system, auto-stick style transmission, great high and low 4 wheel drive, enough power and torque to pull a good sized load. Optional seating for seven dual zone climate control make this a great vehicle.
A few minor issues which have been quickly and courteously resolved by the dealer are the only mentions of dissatisfaction. I was displeased with the courtesty and professionalism of the original selling dealer but I'm quite satisfied with my current service dealer.
The new ML 350, ML 500 and upcoming ML 63 are all quite impressive and all improve on what was already a great original....read morehide3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Tireless Seats, Comfortable Ride, Powerful, 20 MPG
- Cons
- Outdated Looks, Expensive Handsfree Telephone
This is our second ML320 (2000 & 2002) and it's better than the first. The redesigned 2006 is even nicer. I am shopping for a new SUV and love returning to my ML after test driving others. It is hard to give up ...except the dated look. MB spoils us with a long list of premium features (incl. options). At 70K miles the engine is like new. It roars when you step on it, but it's bred with MB performance - at 50 MPH it accelerates up a steep hill, reaching 90 MPH at the top while others lag behind. Maintenance has been minimal - new rubber & new brake pads. Makes for an excellent used car....read morehide
