2005 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
There are 9 user reviews for the ML500 trim shown below
- nice service plan too bad they pulled it out, very fast when it peaks, leather comfort and style
- brakes worn out easily 4 months tops on mine, warning lights go off a lot,
Benzel Busch is very professional and patient service reps. but their ML-350 has still a lot of problems. Sorry to say Mercedes is not really good in building SUVs.

- Very good fuel economy as compared to my Chevrolet 2500 HD Crew Cab!
- Rougher ride should be expected, it is not a sedan or coupe. Best ride in it's class!
My wife and I are Realtors and drive throughout all of California. The ML 500 meets all the driving challanges that "The Golden State" can dish out. You name it steep hills, mud, sand, snow, floods, bumper to bumper traffic, extreme heat, and cold. The Mercedes Benz ML 500 provides us with comfort and safety whenever we go out to serve our clients.
We drive our vehicles hard and we expect our vehicles to perform. In exchange we make certain that our vehicles are mechanically well maintained using the proper fluids that Daimler Benz recommends. With that in mind we have only taken the vehicle in only four times for service other than fluid maintenance. We took it in for new brakes, a transmission gasket leak, and twice for the over utilized navigation system. Our ML 500 has approximately 40,000 miles and we are quite happy with it performance, style, and safety. Overall, this vehicle is worth every cent you pay for it . I would only reccommend the vehicle for four people to ride at any one time to be comfortable (anymore would be torture). If you need a lot of room for more than that I would suggest a van. I guess this the price for being "cool". This vehicle is perfect for the professional and his/her familiy not to exceede four. You can take it anywhere and not have the stigma of a van or station wagon. So, go for it! Open the sunroof and crank up the Bose Sound System, it is an awesome vehicle. Maybe that's why we have owned over 5 Mercedes Benz. They are just well built vehicles that perform!...read morehide

- Amazing quality.
Wowza is right, This SUV is great. No more minivan appearance and you get that ChryslerDiamlers pizzaz in terms of styling. The quality has imporved a great deal from the previous M-Class also. I no longer have porblems with the tranny on long trips. This SUV really is approaching the quality of the RX330 in terms of styling and power. Minor gripe would be lack of hybrid option. But then again, this is a Benz baby, who cares about gas? If you can't afford gas, you can't afford the Benz. The power of the 5.0 liter enguine rocks. Forget about the small engine though....read morehide

- FAST! Safe, can take corners on 2 wheels, great in all weather, stops on a dime
- can you stand to live in the shop?
This car eats up breaks, tires and gas. It is so fun to drive-but the reliability stinks. I've had my fill, but it was fun while it lasted.

- Nav. is standard , fual millage is ok looks good
- brakes have to be replaced @ 30,000 and the rotors as well
The ML 500 is a great car but behind the times in alot of ways , is very costly to keep up even with the every 10,000 mantance free.
The customer service is the worst of all.

- Fantastic accelleration, lots of cargo room, comfortable seats, great breaks
- Truck like ride on rough surfaces, very expensive to replace breaks, chugs gas like a champ
Overall we have had very few problems. This truck is fast and the breaks are fantastic. It goes like stink in the rain. Comfortable for long distance. All that comes at a price, at 25,000 miles we had to replace the pads and rotars on all four wheels to the tune of $1300.00. I have talked to other owners and they say it is a common problem on MLs. Just be aware of the upkeep on these trucks if you buy one. BMW covers this in their warranty. People love this truck and it still turns heads. If you are in the market for one, I would wait until the new model comes out later this year....read morehide

- Getting rid of it
Do not waste your $$ on the ML500. The vehicle spends more time in the shop than on the road. Buy the X5 for better performance, handling and less maintenance.
