2007 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

- Fuel Economy and Drive smooth. Service not needed as often.
- Did not have running board, later added for a cost!!!
Purchased As Used
PURCHASED AS CERTIFIED IN AUG 2009 WITH LOW MILEAGE...PRACTICALLY NEW.
This car is absolutely great to me. It has excellent pick up and go....compared to the other 2 Diesel cars I have owned. Yes, I am a diesel lady...would never go back to gasoline. The cars last for ever and I am able to sale all of them with good price. This CDI is the best I have had. I love the smooth ride, the easy passing speed and I get great mileage...more than what is predicted. For instance drove from Dallas to Tuscaloosa AL and filled up about 50 miles short of the trip....mileage was great on a tank of gas. Returned and did not gas up once left Alabama. No kidding!!!!
The inside looks elegant compared to the newer models...apparently MB cut back in 2010 and 2011 models. Would not ever sale this car....will see how many years it will last me. Oh, I have 100,000 miles warranty also...Great incentives for a lady driver....read morehide

- Comfort, performance and economy
- Nav system more difficult to use than most
Standard seat material is MB Tec ( a fancy name for vinyl). I had to go to all leather to find a material that would breathe and not leave me in a sweat. Limited availability, which meant I had to buy one that was too loaded with things I really didn't want. Sticker was 67K.
The ride is very solid, cargo space is great. We chose this car because it's the only SUV we found with good creature comforts (particularly seat adjustments) that provided decent mileage with a lower cost fuel alternative.
I enjoy reading the 600 page owners manual and learn something new each time I read it....read morehide

- Great on gas. Roomy. Value. Love the ride. Have the package 1, with sirius. LOVE IT!!!
- Wish Mercedes still offered free maintence. Only reason I will miss my BMW.
Owned Mercedes, Lexus and BMW. I now wanted a diesel suv. I started my search and I considered the VW Toureg TDI, which has a price of $72,000 with package 1. $72,000 for a VW?? I moved on with my search. I was pleased and couldn't believe the price for a 2007, diesel, awd, with the Mercedes name. Until I drove it, I forgot how much more the Mercedes offered over my BMW so I traded my X3, and there is no comparison. For just about the same price as a X3, the Benz ML CDI offers so many more features, and it just has a much better ride. Got the package 1. Didn't need navigation. Have a tomtom 910 that I really like for much less. I can't wait to drive my ML CDI each day. I LOVE THIS CAR!...read morehide

- Averaged 24.1 on my first road trip up Route 13 in Virginia upon leaving showroom. Tight and solid
- Typical of too many cars today, certain aspects of this vehicle are way over-engineered.
This past weekend, I traded in a 7-year old S500 and a 6-year old SLK320 for the new ML320 CDI. ML's navigation, Bluetooth and 6-CD changer system are a huge improvement over the non-intuitive S500's. Still wish there was a way to have a car as simple as the older SLKs but unfortunately I think those days are gone.
I am beginning to get used to a transmission that is truly remarkable as the vehicle is accelerating and oddly noticeable as the car is slowing (either from coasting or braking). In fact, as the car nears a complete stop, it almost feels like it is braking itself as it drops down to 1st gear. The sensation is not unlike the feel of downshifting a manual transmission to slow the car instead of using the brakes. I'm rationalizing that the car is so torqued up that it is standing by to spring from a slow speed/stop to full power with an instant's notice. I also remind myself that it's not a big sedan, or a roadster and its feel is going to be completely different....read morehide

- Fuel economy, room, quality
- can be pricey
Came out of an '03 Range Rover. Cannot beat the fuel economy. Plenty of room, plenty of power. Cannot believe there are not more diesels available stateside.

- Comfort, Handling, technology
- Fuel economy, Parktronic not standard
I say fuel economy, because i'm a tight so-and-so. I have a little car which does about 50 mpg in town, this does between 19 and 25 in town, depending on traffic.
Still though, it's a big car, and you expect fuel consumption to be that much. For a car of it's size though, i guess the consumpion is pretty good.
Except for that, what a car. I had my heart set on the last ML, but the reviews and people i know, had bad experiences When the new one came out, I was extremely excited. I have a black, SE, 320 CDI, and it is a great, great car. It picks up speed, very very fast, and i could drive it all day. When i come home and park it in my drive, i just want to jump back in their and drive some more. It's so comfortable, more so than my armchair in my sitting room at home...! It is just luxury inside. The shape is just fantastic; so intimidating. It's got a character and personality, and it just stands out on the road above all the other cars.
It's a great family car as well. You just can't complain. I can't find fault with the car really. Being in London, the price is ridiculously expensive compared with the US, but it's still value for money, when push comes to shove.
I recommend this car above any other 4x4. It is simply an immense machine. I've only had the car about 3 weeks, and so far (thank god) i've had no problems. I don't expect to either - it's got a strong build and feels like quality; you just trust it, and i expect it to be reliable.
I'm looking forward to taking it to a track of some description, so i can push it really, really hard, and see what it can take. The streets of London i'm afraid, don't quite do this beast any justice......read morehide

I test drove all of the luxur SUV's. The Acura, The Lexus 400H, The BMW X-5 and realized that the 2007 ML 320CDI is the best of all. It is amazing that an SUV that goes 0-60 in just 8 secs flat is only 1/10 of a mile slower (7.9 secs for 0-60) for the gas model 350 ML. The car is quiet, smooth and comfortable. It is by far the best SUV out there as far as safety and economy. My dealer, Coggin Motor Mall of Ft Pierce, FL was excellent with their attidude and accomodations and help in getting the best deal on this vehicle....read morehide

- with chrome nerf bars and front grill, real eye popper in black. Fantastic performance.
- No cons so far.
Extremely quick diesel, everything fits right, beautiful black paint, chrome bumper guard along with nerf bars really sets the car apart. I am very pleased.
