- This is our first Merecedes Benz after many BMW's. We are very pleased. Currently 24.8 mpg
- Would have perfered leather but none of the cars in stock had leather.
After many BMW's this was a big change for us. We looked at the X5 carefully, but felt the Merecedes offered the Diesel and we were very inpressed with the V6 power and quietness. The ride is smoother then the X5, but Merecedes does not offer the full maintance program as does BMW. We keep our cars 4 years, so I looked at the value and found the Merecedes should do a bit better. The BMW now has the ibar for adjusting the dash systems, didn't care for that. The Mercedes has a new gear shifter on the steering column leaving the center console open, That is very nice.
We'll see how it does in the Phoenix summers....read morehide

- good fuel economy, a charateristic combining comfort, quiet, handling and off road capability,
- the seat is not as soft, plush as Toyota or Honda brand, option is cost and expensive
I own a Toyota minivan. I have tried Lexus Rx and GX 470, BMW X5, Toyota 4-RUnnner and Highlander hybrids before I settle down to this ML 320 CDI. All the Toyotas and Lexuss have the similar driving trait and characteristic. It is quiet, comfort but boring. BMW is impressive for its road handling and driving capability but it is louder and coarse. Its electronics is too complicated with a lots of trouble. The Mercedes combined all those goodness plus the advantage for fuel economy. So far I got 22-24 MPG combine local and highway in the break in period. The truck is more comfort and quieter than Lexuss and Toyotas. The road handling and drivability is definitly better than Lexuss and Toyotas and approximate those of BMW. The off road cability is similar as 4Runners and GX470 but much better than the RX350 and BMW X5. The reliability improves recently according to JD Power....read morehide

Instrumentation very good, Navigation system is an Old style but does the work easy, phone system Bluetooth what a good idea. Ride is very good. Safety is there...read morehide

- Excellent value for money.
- The Nav System is from the 1990's and could really use an upgrade.
I have had this car for more then 4 months now and it drives like a dream. All other ML's including the current E320 BT give you a Truck like feeling but this one drives easy. Seats are very good, visibility is excellent, I am getting about 23.4MPG in City type driving and about 29MPG to 31MPG on the Highway. The Nav system need a major upgrade and it lack accuracy which is not good but other then that every thing is perfect with this car. I would recommend it to any one....read morehide

- This vehicle has it all: agility, economy, power, looks, elegance, value.
- Air suspension is an expensive must-have
It's amazing. For comparison purposes, I had a 2002 C230 Kompressor coupe, a little 3300 pound 2-door gas engine car with a manual (6spd) tranny. I averaged 28MPG with 90% highway driving. Now I drive this beautiful beast - 1500 pounds heavier at 4800 lbs, but at the same time with its 7 speed automatic tranny it's quicker 0-60 than my old coupe by half a second, and gets 1MPG BETTER fuel economy! 700 mile+ range OMG. All the while diesel fuel is cheaper than premium here in FL. AND I can fit 3 buddies in the vehicle comfortably. And with the rear seats folded down anybody 6'3" and shorter can fully stretch out in a sleeping bag...or 2 ;) And I can tow a 7200lb boat if I need to. BTW if you can afford it get the air suspension and radar controlled "distronic" cruise control - expensive though (hence 4 stars in value). Plus a tiny bit of turbo lag (hence 4 stars in performance). Nonetheless, this is one awesome vehicle! Especially masculine in black. :)...read morehide
