There are 15 user reviews for the ML320 CDI trim shown below
- great seats, look, satellite etc
- expensive maintenance, tires etc
Purchased As Used
expensive upkeep, repairs outrageous without the warranty, long wait for parts, battery is under the front passenger seat must be replaced by mb dealer .AAA will not replace the battery must pay hourly service for battery rplacement, not what EXPECTED IN A MB

- GREAT fuek economy, GPS / Moonroof standard, roomy, very responsive, a BLAST to drive!
- SAm computer went out at 900 miles, options are pricey
I have owned my ML 320 CDI for about a month now. Fuel economy is great, averaging 23 in town and 28 on the highway. I have the black with MB Tex interior - I am not a big fan of the MB Tex yet. I purchased this vehicle because it was the best deal on the lot, trading in a BMW 328I. The SAM computer went out when I had the car in for the 1000 mile check - AT THE DEALERSHIP! It was covered under warranty of course but it took 2 days to get it repaired. Speaking of repairs, I have nothing but GREAT PRAISE for my dealership, Mercedes Benz of Sugar Land, Texas. They are a 5 start dealership and really go out of the way to take care of the customer.
Back to the SUV - turning radius is great, ride is firm but not jarring, seats and dash are good, I find the NAV easy to use now that I have been getting to know it better. It probably is dated but not the worst one out there, BY FAR!
as far as options are concerned, I have purchased the Bluetooth adapter and I am about to get the roof rack system off of EBAY. I got the Bluetooth for $220 delivered and it works GREAT, using the COMAND NAV/radio for all controls, not to mention the steering wheel buttons. It will download my phone list so I can see who is calling without taking my hands off the wheel or my eyes very far off the road - an excellent idea.
The ML is my favorite vehicle to date - I wish it had the maintenance covered like the BMW but only time will tell about this cost. This vehicle comes after the BMW 328i, a 2008 FORD F250 diesel (terrible fuel economy), Chevrolet Avalanche and Tahoe, and a lot of other vehicles. I tend to trade often, as you can see.
This one is making a believer out of me.......read morehide

- Good aggresive looking, handling (accelerating, towing), braking, feel, most important MPG
- MHI is too expensive...
This is my very first Mercedes after many BMW's I had! I love this car, great looking, handling, feels good, and of course the miles per gallon. I have to say this car is feels almost like a BMW, accelerate pretty fast, and the brake is pretty sensitive. It's too precious to drive aggresive nor abuse the engine. I would defintely keep the vehicle for a long time. Dont know about the maintainece cost yet, hopefully it's not too bad (not to mention BMW is quite expensive to maintain)....read morehide

- Good looks, quiet for a Diesel, good torque...
- Seats a little uncomfy on long trips, options are pricey...
'08 320CDI 4-matic w/ P2, heating package. Bought this model for wife after turning in leased R350. Anticipating the 38-40 highway MPG's after initial breakin but so far MPG's not that high with 650 miles driven. Starting to like the looks despite the huge wheel well gap and small-ish looking tires/wheels (19's). Ride is soft, comfortable, quiet for Diesel, no black smoke when "on it"... This is NOT an Offroader other than the occassional dirt road, snowy parking lot etc. but didn't buy it for offroad prowess... Looking forward to driving it in Colorado winter weather and snow... Options are pricey for this class vehicle and drive the price up alot quickly... Bi-xenons should be standard as they are far superior to halogens. Heating package for steering wheel and rear seats adds $1200...!...read morehide

It is a comfortable car with great looks and good performance. This new model is unique that other car makers have to copy from.

- After 1000 miles I'm getting combined MPG 24, Highway 27.5. Great brakes.
- Price skyrockets when you shop the options list. Bluetooth module is almost $500.
No question diesel is very expensive but it's real nice being able to go over 500 miles before having to re-fuel. The engine is quiet, powerful, and smoke free. Turning circle is very small, probably better than many cars. Skip the six disk CD changer and iPOD interface. Satellite radio is all you need....read morehide

- Good fuel economy. Comfortable, firm ride. Performs better than a lot of gas vehicles.
- Expensive to maintain.
2008 ML 320 CDI replaced a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban. The diesel accelerates and handles much better than the Suburban. Average fuel use with 75% city and 25% highway driving is about 22 mpg. I have only put two tanks of fuel in the vehicle so I anticipate the mileage getting better as the engine breaks in. Requires expensive oil filters (30 bucks) and CJ-4 grade oil (Seven bucks a quart x nine). Very pleased with the handling and ride. I am also a fan of the MB-Tex seats. I have owned cars with leather and cars with MB-Tex. The MB-Tex will out last the leather and is easier to clean and maintain....read morehide

- Very tightly put together. Great road holding especially for large vehicle in corners.
- The MB Tex in Macademia even with treatment takes on color from pants
I love this vehicle. I also have 82 300CD with 120,000 miles. I'm sold on MB Diesels. I have owned the ML 320 CDI for three months. 3650 miles so far and according to on board computer, am averaging 25.2 mpg overall. Highway averages 28 mpg, in town 22 mpg. Very comfortable for two large people in back seat. Lots of technology in sound system, navigation to learn if you are not used to that. Diesel is higher price than Supreme now but think it will change. Seats comfortable and adjustable. I like the flexiblity of having towing package to pull boat of trailer. I would suggest the leather instead of the MB Tex until they can treat the MB Tex so it doesn't take on color and look dirty. Transmission is a dream with seven speeds. The ML 320 CDI has enough torque to get you on freeways and around slower vehicles when you need too. Have owned 1995 Nissan Pathfinder before and liked the vehicle a lot, but this is a much more civilized, quite and predictable drive....read morehide

- Very good on fuel - very surprised how quiet and smooth it rides.
I highly recommend this SUV. Been driving this SUV for 2 months now
and drove 5000+ miles and it's worth every penny invested on this car.
