- Pros
- Sweet smooth Mercedes feel. Tight Steering Good Grounds Package. Great looking.
- Cons
- Little or no trunk room with 3rd row up.
Purchased As New
This vehicle has all the bells and whistles wish I had purchased the push button starter..... still the nav system is awesome and simple.... the sirius radio rocks..... harmon kardon.... the little lady does guzzle fuel in the city. 3 rows of 2 makes a very comfortable in and out for a 6 footer even in row 3. The accelerator is a little touchy when you first start using it so fyi. Love the easy access rear doors but the back doors are huge and open up a long way out...
Weird service intervals and not much you can do as a quasi mechanic. Love the leather interior and def glad I got the dark shaded interior and black carpets. Comfortably fits 4 big golfers and bags with the third row down. Smooth drive highway or city and easy to kick it in to sport mode on the air ride suspension....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

I have owned a R500 for over a year now and absolutely love it in every way. The only problem I encountered was a transmission jerking that happened on occasion but it was fixed under warranty. The acceleration for such a heavy vehicle is unparalleled. This is my 2nd MB and feel that I will stick with the 3 pointed star for life.
A lot of people report problems that in 100% of the cases are covered by warranty. For some odd reason, they feel good about saying "my 1995 Honda Accord with 200K miles never had any problems", without realizing that this car has 1000% more technology on it than a regular car! Don't listen to them....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Spacious, comfortable, AWD, excellent brakes, and superior audio system; Har-Kardon.
- Cons
- Engine noise when in Parked, a bit loud not sure what the problem is??
First saw this crossover/ the Grand Sports Tourer, what an excellent name, totally out of the ordinary. The interior are so perfectly made to taylor all the luxurious needs. All wheel drive is awesome for this Sports Tourer, agile and handles very well. Turning radius is far beyond what i have expected, better than my Solara, but i do miss the quiteness on the engine and the ease of parking. This Mercedes Benz have every luxury accommodation and what's outstanding is the added safety measures/detail that was put into this Tourer; air bags on the passengers side as well as the two back rows, strong body frame, etc. On top of that a 30% off your insurance bill because of all the added safety features. This is an excellent luxurious Grand Tourer, except the noise on the engine that bothers my wife a bit other than that, two thumbs up for me....read morehide

- Pros
- Style , Comfort.
- Cons
- Poor gas milage .
I made the big mastake of trading my faithful Pathfinder in on a R 350 , since then I have had the clunker in the shop at least 6 times in six months. It developed a squeek in the rear wheel , CD player Jam's, I am getting about 14-15 miles per gal. today . There was rattle in the door , check engine light comes on ( on two occasions ) and when it shifted down the transmission would jerk the car ( this was corrected with a soft ware update),
thank goodness i am leasing , i will never go back to this model again. The only good thing about this mess , is Mercedes Benz customer service is stellar on every level. They are very apologetic and have made every effort to rectify the problems. This sure isnt my Grandfather's Benz . I suspect, since this model is made in the US , quality has suffered . I am a retired Quality Engineer , so perhaps i am to critical , but i used my Pathfinder as a bench mark which never had one issue in 6 years of hard driving....read morehide1 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Great fuel economy for size, great ride, many options
- Cons
- None to speak of
We just purchased a used '06 and took it on a winter trip from Texas to Colorado (2200 miles) in temperatures from -26F to +40F with roads that varied from dry to slush to snow to ice and the car performed excellently with its 4WD. The ride was also excellent. As far as we were concerned, the fuel economy was good also with a 22.7mpg overall for the whole trip. That included highway, mountain and city driving. Our elevation went from 700 ft. where we live (Austin) to 11,000 ft. on some passes (Vail). Our R350 was totally loaded with 3 families luggage with only the 2 front seats open for passengers. Our experiences even included passing a police car that was sliding all over the place on an uphill climb as I passed him in the right lane and waving to him proudly with a sure footing from our R350.
The car is great in many other aspects and we will be keeping it for a long time....read morehide3 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Flexible seating/cargo, so comfy and powerful, great amenities
- Cons
- rear door is big, watch out in parking lots, auto trunk latch sketchy
I cant believe how much I love this car, and how great it is for families with 3 kids. I thought I needed a Yukon XL - boy was I wrong. Who wants more than 4 kids in your car at one time anyway???
I have had an electrical problem and my automatic trunk latch is still not quite right after just being replaced. HOWEVER, the nav system is so easy to use - much better than our BMW 745il which is impossible. Try the "rest" button in cold weather, it will keep your car warm for 30min after you get out. Keyless go is AMAZING- no more searching for keys in your purse! Harmon Kardon rocks. The special lighing package makes the inside of your car glow at night. Love it.
I only wish it had the automatic soft closing doors like the BMW. Kids sometimes have to try twice to shut the door, and I cant tell you how many times I have driven away from school drop off with the door open.
Also, macadamia interior is dirty in about 5 minutes. Cant they make the floor material two shades darker???? And be careful if you use the button ignition; accidentally hitting it gently will turn on the battery....read morehide3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

- No trim specified for this review
- Pros
- Great looks, ride, acceleration and handling
- Cons
- Engine noise. Gear shift hicups. Weak head lamps - no xenon lights....
It could have been a great one. Drives like an S class with superb handling, acceleration and precise brakes....
However it seems Mercedes Benz has not succeeded with this car and is now dumping it offering leases that are way below what I am paying. This is upseting and is not what I expect from Mercedes Benz......read morehide2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.
