If it wasn't for the killer price, this would be one awsome car! You have over 600 hp with sick luxury! And you can still feel safe in it while speeding on the highway! But I wouldn't get too happy due to the gas mileage and of course, $181k price tag.

superb amenities equitable for a car of this caliber. for a car this powerful, fuel econ is great.

hard to find any faults. hmmm. for a v-12 bi-turbo, i would like to see 750bhp! :D

there are very few cars in this world, production and/or custom that equal the aesthetics, power and control that a S65 has.

there is a very short list on what i can think of to improve the car. no, i am not talking about ghetto'izing it with play stations, a booming stereo and spinners. i am talking about performance balanced with aesthetics.

power is more than adequate with 604 bhp (standard) under its hood. torque is unbelievably powerfully refined. what i mean is that when you step on the gas, instead of ripping your head off backwards, the power curve of the v-12 is amazingly smooth. you feel yourself being pressed back into the seat.

i have yet to take it on a track and the fastest i have gone in it is 120mph on the freeway...which is the limit for me because i am already skirting with jail at this speed.

but what is sheer speed, hp and torque without luxury. refinement is a huge part of the draw of a S65. if it werent, i could get a honda civic to put out 1200hp that would smoke anything on the road. thus, speed is fun but when you do it in comfort, it is grand.

there are just too many things to list on what makes a S65 the ultimate luxury sports car. let's see...all leather interior, including the ceiling, night vision, distronic, parktronic, vented seats (which are not too weak...if any more powerful, extended use would make you too cold. main cooling is via the driver/passenger climate control for front and back passengers), etc etc and ETC. the list is toooo long on what makes this car so incredible.

things that are hard getting used to: the telephone keypad. i preferred the telephone keypad on the dash and not with a flip up on the console, i still hate the toggle which is hard to control and takes forever to learn all its functions esp when trying to enter gps info.

the only thing to include to make this car better? a heads up display like the m5/m6's have. other than that. it's awesome. just awesome!!!...read morehide

The Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is epic and staggering. I've driven a S550 before and it was so unbiliveble! So the S65 AMG is probably even more. So obviously you want one.But there are going to be a few problems with that. It obviously is the price. You see the bass price is 145 000 pounds which is pretty pricey but every penny you pay counts. If you don't like paying for gas you might not want one. Rims look small, Ride is too high at sport suspension, Rear is too small, looks like a Maybach.

In my opinion, this car is a good luxury sedan with a few ticks to work out. First, the Big screen at the front should be a touch screen. The seat coolers should be stronger. There should be a sunroof above the back seats too, mainly for the business men with their own drivers. Extravagant purchase but woth every dime. Car handles fabulous and it is really an amazing machine. Not quite sure I will ever purchase another car as pricey, but for now, all is good.

overall its a wonderful alternative to the bentley flying spur it has comfort gadgets and in my personal opinion looks great in andorite grey but for those who are interested any color is a great color for this sexy big block sedan
