I purchased this in September of 2012 brand new...Came out of a 2008 750LI...Biggest mistake of my car purchase life (besides my wife's 2011 GL 450). In the first 6 weeks of owning it, it was in the shop 4 times for 14 days. And it is still not right. I just got tired of having to deal with the dealer and driving a C class they left me...The car rides like #$%$, sounds like a diesal, and now is making brake noises. BUT everytime I take it to the dealer, they said they fixed it but it returns with the same problems. Every week it is something new....Now let me tell you about the GL 450. Within the first 6 months and it having 6k in miles, I had to replace the tires cause it drove like a mack truck...They made it sound like it was no big deal...$1,600...Fast forward to 20K in miles and I was just informed that i have to replace the front 2 tires...$800. They mounted them for free...gee thanks...They acknowledged that the SUV goes thru tires...JOKE...These are my 3rd and 4th Mercedes...I WILL NEVER BUY ONE AGAIN........read morehide

the best vehical i have ever owned. has all the practial luxury one needs. it's safty level is second to none.mine is a2007 sS-550 at 86000 miles. my recent smog test resulted in all areas tested at zero emmissions. the car still looks new inside and out. my next one will be a 2010 S-550 or S600....read morehide

Poor stereo, steering pulls, brakes so so, bottoms out on dips

Traded in 08 LS460 for 11 S550. Stereo is not good! A/C is noisy. Steering pulls, alignment didn't help. Brakes are not great. Good power, quiet but not as quiet as LS460, soft seats but don't fit my back as well. Auto shut doors are a joke!, Voice command is a joke. To plug in iPhone music you must buy an overpriced plug only to find out the plug is in the glove box, not in the center console. You can buy $20k cars with chrome wheels, but $100k S550, your out of luck! That is a joke!...read morehide
