We gotten a 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Ultimate Edition in Black that came from Oklahoma as a rental with 22,000 Miles. It is very powerful with 239 Horsepower (I am not talking corvette power that destroys General Motors V8 engine easily and tranny) and 2.73 Rear End Ratio that burns Civic Ricers all day. I'd drive this over a ricer....read morehide

This is a ridiculous car for this period in time. There are much better and more efficient vehicles out there--cars that handle much better and are more efficient. I averaged 20 MPG in a moderate driving style. Furnishings felt cheap.
This is a car that I rented for one week and drove for 200 miles....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

I had always been a GMC man, I bought my first Grand Marquis, Ultimate Edition, loaded. Love it, wrecked my PU, went by my Mercury dealership checking for a pickup. Salesman was driving it, Black, loaded, fell in love with it. Guess what? I came home with it. Best car I have ever owned. I will keep it forever because they are not made any more. I had to go find a pickup because a woman hit my PU, totaling it. LOVE THE MARQUIS....read morehide

My sixth, and last, Grand Marquis. Love the car. Great handling and a real cruiser on long trips. Outstanding leg room for a tall guy. Didn't want to trade my 2005, but, dealer gave me a deal on this one. Often hear the comments from riders about the great ride..smooth, quiet and just a joy. I truly like the rear wheel ride and this was always a major factor in buying this model....read morehide

- Pros
- Large, comfortable, reliable and nearly indestructable
- Cons
- Old-fashioned solid rear axle.
Purchased As Used
I've owned 3 Grand Marquis's over the years, a 1978, a 1982 and a 1995. Other than the grille and taillights, not much has changed since 1995 and today. The 4.6L engine is smooth as glass, and one of the most reliable motors Ford has ever built. Body-on-frame construction is nearly indestructable. Seats are super comfortable. The ride is smooth for the most part, but the solid rear axle can get upset going over bumps. A little more horsepower out ov the V-8 wouldn't hurt either. Repairs are cheap and simple compared to most luxury cars on the road. Ford has made a gazillion of these, so used parts are plentiful in the junkyard. I'm gonna miss these cars when they are gone....read morehide
