- Great fuel economy, comfortable, simple but nice
Recently purchased 08 Mariner after test driving two competing SUV's. This was the best, most quiet, and most comfortable ride. Recently took a small road trip and averaged 27 MPG. Friends compliment on the look of the inside and outside. Love it so far.

- Looks, Comfort, Handling and Room.
- Gas Mileage, driver seat adjustment, rear lift gate.
My wife and I traded in our Jeep Liberty for this vehicle. We have a little more than 700 miles on the vehicle now. We are very happy with it! The comfort level is well above the Jeep Liberty and the vehicle handling is great for a SUV. The center of mass is lower on this vehicle which makes it a nice handling SUV. We wish we had purchased the electric driver's seat as the seat adjustment needs to be able to be adjusted higher for my wife's height. Another complaint of her's is the rear lift gate is heavy and hard to open for shorter people. I wish the gas mileage was better in this day and age....read morehide

- Amenities; styling; radio; easy to park
- Rear suspension noise; rubbing brake noises; transmission jerks; noises when making right hand turns
Where to I begin! The second day I owned the vehicle (250 miles) the brakes began to make a rubbing noise and the rear end made noises when making right hand turns. Now with just 2700 miles, it sounds like I'm driving a vehicle with 250,000 miles. I contacted the salesman where I bought the vehicle in Aberdeen, Maryland and he said it was my responsibility to contact Ford. So, since Maryland has a "Lemon Law", as instructed by our State Attorneys' General Office, I sent Ford a certified letter concerning my issues. No response to date. After spending $27,000 and owning the vehicle for just two months I am reduced to keeping the radio cranked up loud to drawn out the noises from the rear end. I've taken it to the dealership three times for these issues and finally, after demanding the technician ride in the truck with my husband, they said that they heard the noise. They said Ford is aware of the problem; that it is not a safety issues but merely a "nuisance" issue; and hopefully they should have a "fix" sometime in June or July. Meanwhile, I'm driving the vehicle only when necessary and have even been driving a rental. I'm scare because of the brake issues. So, please, don't buy this vehicle. It looks terrific and I had researched my purchase for several months before buying. I know there are "lemons" out there and I guess I got one, but the customer service from both my dealership and Ford/Mercury is what really hurts the most, In these days and times you would think that Ford would be trying to keep customers. My husband and I have bought Fords for over forty years. However, I don't think I will buy Ford again. They've lost two very loyal customers....read morehide

- Great Econonmy, excellant looks, nice interior and the front Grille
My wife and i decided that we wanted a new SUV to replace our old GMC Jimmy. We drove past our Lincoln-Mercury dealer and we saw the mercury mariner. We stoped and looked at it and when we sat inside it, we knew it was calling our names. The seats are so comfortable and the interior is well thought out. This is what mercury needed to Revive the brand. We average for 28 mpg with the 4 cylinder. As a matter infact, my wife wants to trade in her 2005 Honda Pilot for another 2007 Mercury Mariner and that is what we will do. this is a winner for ford and a brand revival for mercury. 2 THUMBS UP!!!...read morehide

- Classy rides well, easy to handle, sturdy. I am thrilled with the performance.
- Wish their were handles above the doors in front. Would like a bigger gas tank.
Overall very satisfied with the car. In next design consider the arrangement to lock and unlock etc on the key, it is easy to hit the rear window lock and drive away finding out it is open.
The radio selection on steering wheel is great but station changes would be nice also, volume control is good too but would like to be able to change stations.
LOVE THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE NOT BOUGHT A FORD MERCURY FOR MANY YEARS AND I AM IMPRESSED AT THE IMPROVEMENT IN THE PRODUCT.
GREAT JOB!!...read morehide
