2008 Mercury Milan User Reviews

- Super quiet and comfortable ride, incredible highway fuel economy
- Low head room, cheapish door panels attract fingerprints, 4 cyl jerky on start, so-so city mpg
The is the most underrated car on the market. Much more pleasant to drive than a Honda Accord, roomier and more comfortable (except for the headroom with a moonroof - I am 6'2" and I would be better off without the moonroof). I would have given comfort 5 stars if it had more headroom.
I leased this car for my daughter's use (a 17 year old who does not like really small cars) and got an incredible 24 month deal. I rarely see these on the road in New York which leads me to believe that Mercury is not doing a good job marketing this car, because if more people knew how great it is, they would buy it.
Out of boredom with my Mercury Mariner, I swapped vehicles for a week. I am really enjoying the soft quiet ride. The 4 cylinder performance is more than adequate, quiet on the highway but a little rough at slow speeds. At highway speeds, you would never notice it's a 4.
Even though I find my head brushing the roof and have become accustomed to the SUV driving position, I like everything about this vehicle better than my Mariner and also better than any of the 20 or so cars I have owned in my lifetime.
Highway gas mileage came in at 34 mpg, but it drops rapidly in city driving, getting at best 18 mpg (but still almost twice as good as my V6 Mariner, which is really not too bad itself for a V6 SUV.
I was losing faith in Lincoln/Mercury/Ford products, but this vehicle has renewed my faith. Durability remains to be seen, but I really don't care too much about that on a 24 month lease.
I highly recommend this car to anyone shopping for an Accord or Camry. My past experience with Mecury durability has not been great so I might be nervous to buy it. Lease it for no more than 3 years and you will be fine.
