- Smooth ride,more leg room than 98 towncar,very quite
We traded a 98 Lincoln Towncar, and left on a 1500 mile vacation. I found the car to be as quite and smooth a the Lincoln. This car has more trunk space, and leg room than the Lincoln. Without any effort I could beat most cars to the next traffic light. After a six hour drive we were not tired. The seats give excellent support. We both love this car....read morehide

- Good fuel economy,VERY smooth and quiet ride.
- Somewhat disappointed that all radio controls cannot be accessed through steering wheel controls.
Overall an EXCELLENT vehicle and an EXCELLENT value for the money spent. Would HIGHLY recommend.

- Excellent seating position. Spacious storage. No first hand experience with the AWD but I'll bet it'
Best new car Ford/ Mercury has introduced since the original Taurus/ Sable. The trunck is gigantic, the front and rear arm rests can hold anything you need to have at the ready. I also don't understand all these complaints about the Duratec V-6. You want a hotrod buy a hotrod.

I've had my Premier AWD model for 6 weeks now, and I've driven it through the Rockies and to 'Frisco and back from Milwaukee. I love the car. When I first saw it, I knew I liked it. It's one of those intangibles with cars, you know? This one clicked with me right away.
The test drive confirmed some of my preconceived ideas about what it would drive like, and dispelled some others. First, the CVT transmission feels odd at first. And it doesn't jump off from a standing start like a trans with a normal torque converter would. But then after about two seconds, the CVT puts the engine right at it's peak power and moves the car with a steady pull, and I was surprised at how un-slow this car was. The short drive reviews the magazines have printed so far make you think this thing is a barge. Trust me, it isn't. You never feel the CVT altering ratios. Smooth as the proverbial silk.
Second, this car has fantastic ride. Road noise is very low, road shock from potholes never start the body shuddering. It drives with a high quality feel. The steering is a bit numb on feedback, but it is nicely weighted. It isn't over assisted to the point that you never quite know how fast it's going to respond. It's quiet as a vault, except during full throttle acceleration where the engine does sing like a Soprano during a Wagnerian opera. But it does not, I repeat, does not sound unhappy. It is a DOHC 24 valve V-6 afterall.
The AWD systen was put to ample test during a recent trip through Wyoming and Montana. The Pirelli P6 18" tires along with the Haldex AWD system made the ice and snow much less intimidating. The brakes are hell for strong, with easy to control application. In short, the car inspires confidence.

my mom drives this car awesome, so smooth and roomey set up high off the ground so its like a suv I RECOMEND IT!
