Fun ride! Loud air conditioner, but oh well

by Janette Toney from Allen Texas (6/06/08)
Pros:Fun, fun, fun! Gets lots of waves and honks. Peppy.
Cons:Gas routinely gets lowest mileage no matter how I drive.

Traded in my Lexus ES300, so the rougher ride is something I really need to get used to. I got the Sidewalk edition with every bell and whistle - so it's plush and I love that. However, the air conditioner is VERY loud. An upgraded stereo is a must so you can hear it over the air conditioner! The car is soooo much fun to drive. It really grips the road. I wish I wouldn't have been pressured to get the automatic transmission - a 6 speed standard would have been better I think. And I could control the gas mileage a little better. With the automatic, I routinely get the lowest mileage of 22 or 23 - with premium gas, that's worse on the pocket book that a V6 Lexus. Ouch.

Doesn't everyone own a Mini?

by MaryAnn A. from Jamestown, NY (5/16/08)
Pros:Great on gas, Great on looks, Just plain Great!
Cons:Not enough hours in the day to drive my Mini Cooper Convertible!

I ordered my Mini Cooper Convertible " Sidewalk Edition" in February and picked it up at Towne Mini in Buffalo, NY on April 24th. I never thought I could smile so much and enjoy my ride as much as I do in my Mini. The white silver metallic color with the black rag top against the French Malt Brown Leather interior makes this car so unique looking. The best feature with this convertible is the top comes down in 15 seconds andd when the top is up there is still plenty of head room for a person over 6 ft. tall. It's very spacious and very retro. You can't help but love it. If you've been thinking about buying a Mini, don't hesitate, just do it! It will be the best car purchase you'll ever make.

Zoom with my Mini

by John from Hillsboro, Oregon (5/10/08)
Pros:Handling, sport shift A/T, fast opening top. Lot of room in front.
Cons:Sport seats kill your legs. No room in rear seat. 30 mpg on hwy.

This is the most fun I have had motoring. The handling is great. The automatic sport shifting beats a stick shift every time. Wife just leaves it in D. I get to shift w/o clutch. Love the layout of the dash. Convertible opens in 15 seconds.

Worth it.
