Being that I worked at Mitsubishi, I may have an affinity for the brand, but Mitsu really does build great cars! I wish Mitsu was more appreciated and had a higher profile.

I really like my 07 Spyder GT!! It gets looks and positive comments everywhere I go! Mine is the ultra red pearl with black top, plus I modified it with 19" wheels, lowered it, MagnaFlow exhaust, Injen intake, and factory aero kit (manly mods lol). Looks and sounds sweet, and the girls love it! Interior is good, if a bit bland (I'm dressing it up with carbon trim). Great looking front seats that are comfortable. It is a rare and unique car, not many built esp. with the 6 spd manual like mine. And now that Mitsu is ending Eclipse production, it's even more rare now.

But it is very heavy at 3600 lbs, and the big 3.8 V6 should be putting out more hp to move that weight around. But still goes pretty good. Handling is good for a heavy front driver. Backing up is hazardous with the major blind spots, but that's to be expected in a convertible.

I live in Colorado, I never see other sporty cars out in a snow storm. Just the eclipse. Gets around fine with front wheel drive.Everything works great. Everything I need and nothing I don't. Controls are easy and intuitive. Nothing is a mystery. Look at the gs four cylinder for ease of operation, high mpg, Had the tires rotated at 5000 miles but none showed any difference in wear. I've had my purrrrrfect convertible for over 16000 miles now and guess what...my mileage has improved from 22 to almost 30 MPG HWY. I recently changed my OEM air filter and saw an up-tick in mileage. I've had practically no problems with this little beauty. I've had some break squeeking, but I've heard that is a common issue with sportier cars with the open style breaks which are exposed to the weather. The stereo still rocks, the top still operates smoothly and leak-free, and I still get the compliments from passers-by...Nice Car! Luckily, I still don't see too many on the road, but the word is catching on and I do see many more than just a year ago. My only gripe is that the resale value of Mitsubishi cars don't hold up well....totally unfair! I think I'll be buying that 2009 model with the dual exhaust in 2010 at a great deal! :)...read morehide

There is a blind spot with the roof up. But I still love the car.

I think it is one of the best looking cars on the road. I love driving it, it is a lot of fun.

Our 2007 Eclipse Spyder GT has "eaten" its timing belt twice within 8000 miles. Both times required an extensive engine rebuild...about 40 days in the shop the first time...still waiting to get the car back from it "blowing up" again 2 weeks ago.

I would be extremely cautious about buying this car. Be prepared to deal with plenty of maintenence issues, extremely poor customer service from Mitsubishi, and lots and lots of heartache....read morehide

Easily scratched plastic surfaces, kinda bland looking without body kit

More than a year after I bought this car, I still love it. I get compliments on its head-turning appearance constantly. I can take it through automatic car washes and the roof still doesn't leak. It got me through last winter with little trouble; the front-wheel drive handles snow and ice just fine. When I made the mistake of accidentally putting a tank-full of E85 in it, the engine light came on but it still managed to get through it with little trouble (I'll never ever do that again though. So stupid!). Thank God for that tough little MIVEC engine! The quick and easy top with a nice glass back window is of very good quality, and has not given me any trouble to date. It's also the only really sporty car on the market that takes regular gas with a decent trunk and a useable back seat. Speaking from experience, you can pack enough stuff in it for a two week vacation for two people and still have room to spare.

My only complaints:
The breaks do squeak when the weather's bad, but with the rotors exposed to the elements, it's to be expected. Also, at first I thought it didn't come with audio controls on the steering wheel. Imagine my suprise a year later when I discovered them on the BACKSIDE of the steering wheel completely out of sight. This isn't a very intuitive design, in my opinion. The plastic surfaces do indeed scratch easily, so watch your shoes and belts getting in and out....read morehide

This would make my 3rd and best Mitusbishi Eclipse I have owned. I traded my 2002 silver Spyder for a Triple Black fully decked, all the bells and whistles 2007 GT Spyder that happened to be the first in New Mexico back in early Feb 2006. I must say I enjoy all the gawking, head-turning, and compliments my car gets on a daily basis - people refer to it as the "black suited 'Spyder-Man" car". By the way, you drivers who complain about blind spots, try turning your side view mirrors all the way out - I know you want to look at those beautiful curvaceous sculpted hips of your car but trust me, "turn your mirrors OUT so you can see the road as well as all those envious jealous drivers trying to catch up to you....read morehide

I knew the blind spot would be an issue but is easily overcome with safe driving. A blast to drive. I use to hate driving but no more. The women love it!!!!!

I have had many sporty type cars over the year, all foreign ,and this car ranks right up there with my 1997 z3 roadster! I love that it has a backseat so I have somewhere to put my purse etc when I have a passenger in the car. The car is beautiful, sporty, comfortable and the auto top makes it so eay when you get caught in the rain( 3 times now!) but it was worth it! I have my top down 99% of the time I am in the car.
