Highly recommended car. Unbelievable price with the car of this kind. Just I would go and pick another in next couple of years.

- Good on gas, good overall style for the price!
- I got the most basic version, it was a cheap cheap lease, but does not come with Cruise...
A great car for the overall value, rides better than my mom's Camry, I like the blue lights inside, trip-tronic is also a fun feature!

- Economy, comfort, space, ability to tailor add-ons, driving feel
- some cheap feature choices, fit & finish on some interior parts
I hated buying this car.
I like the car (a lot) but I hated the buying process. Goals going out were simple: economical car that was nice to drive and looked good enough (inside and out) and was comfortable enough to take clients in. That meant 4 cylinder and sedan - V6's and SUV simply aren't going to cut it on the economy & cost front.
The short list ended up being the 2.5S Altima, the new Sebring, the Milan, and the Galant. The Saturn Aura Hybrid was nice, but simply too expensive for what you got. Camry, Accord, and Passat were simply too expensive! The Sebring lost out with the interior. The price was nice, and it's good room and comfort, but that pale interior is simply going to be a nightmare to keep clean, while the interior controls felt cheap and fragile. The Milan was too small in the interior, despite having the same numbers on paper as most of the others. Weird how that happens.
In the end, it came down to the Altima and the Galant. The Altima is more economical and the interior looks nicer at first pass. The interior finish and fit *is* better on the Altima. It's a very popular car and would be a very safe bet for anyone. But the Altima, as well as being a safe bet, is also a boring bet. The steering is nice, but not precise. The accelaration is okay, but the CVT will sometimes labor if pushed. The central controls look good but are tricky to use in practice. The fit out options are okay, but come in expensive package-only combinations.
The Galant offers slightly less. It's still economical (with 2200 miles on the clock it's getting the list 24mpg around town and just under 30 on the highway, which surprises me - most cars don't get their listed mileage) and it's more comfortable to spend several hours in than the Altima. It is also more *fun* to drive - the steering is more precise, the suspension is tighter, the overall feel better. The transmission is more willing to perform and the engine spins more freely than the Altima. The controls are less visually impressive, but they are easier to use and the standard stereo systems are simply better. The add-on options are more easily added- fewer package combinations and more individual ones. And, on top of all that, Mitsubishi was (is?) offering an outstanding rebate on the ES at $2500 back. So, $2500 back plus a dealer deal of $400 above invoice and a up-to-10 year warranty, plus just being a nicer car to drive, all makes me very happy with my Galant ES.
On the downside, some of the cost choices annoy my a little. No folding mirrors, air vents without individual shutoff controls, and some shoddy dash panel fitting (popped them into place myself) detract from an otherwise excellent car. Considering the list price is slightly higher than the Altima (for the same level of car) that's just penny-pinching IMO....read morehide

- Handsome styling, not the common thing, good power, comfortable ride
- It has no hesitation like the Camry, that why I bought one!
For the style, price, comfort, warranty, power and ergonomics, the Mitsubishi Galant has it! No other car has the interactive function between car and driver. All things seem to blend well and accesssable to the driver. The ride is quiet and comfortable. Fun driving and handling car, which makes it easier on long hauls. Just love the Galant's features and shape. Good to be a stand out in the group!...read morehide

- Best nav system we found and gets you down the road without draining your pocket book.
- Nothing found so far.
We searched for vehicles from Sept 2006 until now and finally found what we were looking for. This car has it all. Looks, styles, acceleration, good gas mileage and all rapped up into a very affordable package. You won't be dissapointed with the service Mitsubishi provides either. It's second to none....read morehide

- Looks, size, power, riding comfort, warranty, price, interior features.
The Galant is just what the doctor ordered, a sensible alternative to the high priced, high profile brand name cars that aren't worth the cost. A difference of 1 to 3 thousand dollars is already a saving that could be spent on other important things, warranty is savings in the long run, while the others just evens out as to comparison. Why have headaches throughout your monthly payments when there is an alternative solution....read morehide

- 90 years in car making business is good enough for me.
I have been a Mitsubishi owner for the last 31 years and I have not been disappointed with it. Mitsubishi knows its business in making cars and they are a conservative car company, which makes them not wanted the limelight, but they want competition in rallying. They put their vehicles to the max test, just like the 7th consecutive wins in Dakar rally from Paris, France to Dakar, Africa. Their roadworthiness comes in action, not by commercials as some others do. That is the reason I trust Mitsubishi's 10 year/100,000 mile warranty for one and their reasonable pricing....read morehide

- Dual exh,Power passenger, Ipod Adapter,Auto locks petty stuff
I traded my 2003 M45 V8 in for this car. Let me tell you the test drive sold me! Toyota,Nissan,Honda, there test drive----boring very boring. This car excites the senses. Plus the people that have walked up and asked what kind of car was this. I got one in black and have applied close to 20 polishes to it. The sharp lines just reflect beautifully. The car Feels as it would take off if it had wings. It is smooth and quiet and very very comfortable. More space than my infinity by leaps and bounds. The sterio sound like my Denon at home, a masterpiece. The nav system is the easiest I have ever used touch screen is the way to go. Just test drive one I think you will be amazed...read morehide

- Good gas mileage, price, quality built, smooth & quick response, warranty!
- No hesitation or bad shifting like the tested Camry.
The drive on the Galant was smooth and responsive, comfortable ride, quality built, better gas mileage than the big name Camry. The price was less than the overpriced Camry with less features. I only have to just drive and have peace of mind, not worrying about repairs or maintenance cost for 10 years or 100,000 miles. No need to buy extended warranty, it comes standard when I bought the car....read morehide

- sleek, low profile, comfy ride, good warranty, thin A and B frames - god view
- low resale value, interior very basic, no fold-down rear seat
I own a 2003 ES. I bought it new for 6000$ less than a comparable Accord/Camry with 7 yrs waranty. Beats any other car in that segment on total cost of ownership. Since it does not sell like hot cakes, the dealers generally discount it heavily.
Driven 42,000 miles so far. Not a single problem except one of the headlight bulb replacement within first year. I feel it is more sporty to drive than the accord. Going by the good performance, handling and no quality issues so far, I feel this car is way under-rated.
The only thing I did not like about the car is the absence of cabin light in the rear section. The one in the front (next to the mirror) is not sufficient to light up the rear section. Also the rear seat does not fold down - its fixed , just has a 1 ft by 2 ft fold down opening.
I am very impressed by it, thus the 2nd car I bought is a Mitsu too - Outlander....read morehide
