- Pros
- Lowest price electric, saving money from first mile, Sci Fi NOW!
- Cons
- Ride is harsh over bumps. About the same as our Subaru Impresa

My wife recharges about one or two times a week. All the hype about range problems was unfounded. She drives 10 to 20 miles a day max so whats the problem? She loves the performance, no more gas issues, low low operating costs, no more exhaust or gas smells, no refueling issues (rain, prices, smell of gas on hands), Loves the styling (looks like it's smiling).
We were expecting a huge jump in our electric bill. We haven't noticed an appreciable change!. My wife feels like she is driving for free. I think the negative reviews are sponsored by the oil companies! Only listen to actual owners....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- High efficiency; a lot of room for passengers for a car this size; drives like a real car!
- Cons
- Odd appearance; a bit thin on creature comforts
Purchased As New
If you're researching this vehicle on the Internet, you'll find very polarized reviews. Some people hate the 65 mile range, others like me don't drive that far so the range is adequate. Some people hate the appearance, others like the cute face. Some people hate the size of the vehicle, others say it's adequate for what they need.
The only answer to how you will enjoy this car is to give it a drive. Can you deal without having leather seats and soft-touch interior materials? If you can, there are plenty of other bells and whistles available: Navigation, back-up camera, remote pre-heating/cooling of the cabin, 10-speaker stereo with iPod/iPhone integration, Bluetooth, etc.
While you're gasping at the sticker price for such a small car, remember that you're buying a $15K car with a $15K battery. Until battery price drops and technology improves, a $30K EV will always have some sacrifices.
Those sacrifices become worth it once you start living with an EV: Not having to stand out in the wind and rain to fill up your gas tank, especially when you're already late for work. Not having to get a yearly emissions inspection. Not having to get your oil changed. Not having to raise your voice over your noisy engine when taking a phone call (on hands-free, of course)....read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

i have over 4500 miles on my i and have saved over $800 in gas. it took me about a month to understand and get useto driving an all electric car. if you understand and drive without a lead foot you'll be good at owning one. the i is a perfect car for city driving. i live in the rural area and drive from town to town and it does fantastic, just need to make sure you have enough charge then go for it. wouldn't get rid of it for anything....read morehide

- Pros
- Low priced ($20,000), seats 4 to 5 people, oldest carmaker with ties to Mitsubishi electric
- Cons
- The best and originator of electric cars!
Purchased As New
It is the first carmaker to make a pure electric car in Japan or the U.S. as stated in wikipedia and the longest distance covered by any electric car. One charge can run up to 100 miles without recharging and the lowest priced in the field. It is easy to drive, spacious for 4 or 5 people, parks easily, first to develop in 2006 to create a no dangerous fumes to the environment, sold 17 thousand around the world, with ties to Peugeot and Citroenin Europe....read morehide

- Pros
- Drive, looks, NO gas!!!!
- Cons
- lower quality materials
Purchased As New
I purchased the 2012 mitsubishi i which was is the cheapest electric car on the market. I love this little car. However because there is no engine noise road noise is prevalent. It takes me where ever I need to go! I looked at the nissan leaf and also the chevy volt but I wasn't willing to pay that much. Although the other two might have better inside quality materials this car is more than easy enough to live with. I did have the "range anxiety" at first but not anymore.
The programmable remote to heat/cool the car and set certain times to charge is awesome.
I would definitely recommend this car!...read morehide5 out of 6 people found this review helpful.
