- Best hatchback car made in Japan, with 10 year/100,000 mile warranty!
- Needs to also have a AWD, just like the Lancer SE!

The Mitsubishi Sportback is the car that deserves to be in the top list's of propective buyers for its looks, reliability (10 years/100,000 mile warranty powertrain), power (2.0/2.4 liter engine), fuel economy, ride and made in Japan.
I have always believe that Mitsubishi as the best of Japanese cars because it is the oldest carmaker in Japan, as Ford is in the U.S.. For a Japanese carmaker to give the public a 10 year warranty makes it more believable that their cars will last, as they have been tested in Dakar rally's and rally's throughout the world....read morehide

- Spirited daily driver with a practical little hauler. Nice design, fuel efficient, long warranty.
- Hope Mitsubishi brings a diesel powered engine.

The brand’s name in road rally heritage makes it an advantage for buyers to rely that it is a durable and reliable vehicle pointing to its long 10 year/100,000 mile warranty! The Evolution front end with squinting headlamps and “jet fighter” grille was a must for me.
The Sportback also speaks usefulness, with rack-room up top for skis, bikes, and other must-haves for outdoor adventures.
This Lancer adds a fast-sloping hatch door with an EVO-like rear wing. That hatch naturally hides the Sportback’s true plus, the ability to haul oversized parcels. The opening is wide and low for easy access & lower the cleverly designed cargo floor by a full three inches, and cargo space maxes out at a very impressive 52.7 cubic feet.
For power, the front-drive GTS runs with a 2.4-liter four rated at a modest 168 horsepower and 167 pound-feet of torque, funneled through a 6-speed CVT automatic. It is strong off the line and pretty peppy; enough to make the daily drive entertaining. This Sportback is a fun car in a hammer-it-around kind of way. Brakes are four-wheel discs with ABS.
Over rough pavement, the Sportback is easy on your backside-something many tuned compacts can’t say. Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback is a smart and sensible fuel efficient car with about 28 mpg average. excellent interior flexibility to a fun-to-drive series.
Mitsubishi Lancer picked by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK for Fifth Consecutive Year that makes it a very safe car for High-speed front impact crash testing, High-speed side impact crash testing and Evaluation of seat/head restraints for protection against net injuries in rear impact crash testing....read morehide

- Good brand maker with quality, durability and outstanding warranty!

The Mitsubishi brand is synonymous quality, durability, performance and fun, that's the reason I bought the Mitsubishi Lancer. By its history and legacy being the oldest carmaker in Japan, it says big for a name that started in 1917 and just about when the car was being made. As I checked its roots, I found out more about the car maker and I just wanted to share a tidbit below:
In January 1983, the first Pajero made its debut at the Paris Dakar Rally, taking first place in 1985 at only the third attempt. To date, the Pajero is the most successful vehicle in the Dakar Rally (winning its class 7 out of the last 10 races, and 15 of the full 32 races). This not only gave the Pajero an offroad reputation...read morehide
