Purchased As New
I bought the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE 2WD about 3 months ago. This vehicle has tons of technology features that can be found in any of the luxury cars, but at very affordable price. The 18-inch wheels make the vehicle sit very high and yet drive very comfortably. It looks small from the outside but its is very roomy inside. The back seat can comfortably sit two adults. It has a strong muscular look from the front and the whole exterior looks great.I have over 3000 miles now and the gas mileage has peaked at a combined mpg of around 32. This is excellent efficiency noting that the official gas consumption is rated at 24/31/27.
On the downside, the cabin noise is a bit higher than normal but it is not a deal breaker, considering the value of the vehicle. I hope that Mitsubishi will try and deaden the noise in the next design. The power during takeoff is also a bit sluggish in the CVT mode. However, extra power is achieved in the Sport driving mode, using the paddle shifters.
The performance so far is excellent and I will probably trade in this vehicle for the Outlander PHEV, with the electric motors, when it is introduced into the US late 2014 since I spend a lot of money on gas commuting to work every year. Way to go Mitsubishi!
