- Pros
- attractive front design, roomy, reasonable price, comfortable driving
- Cons
- expensive on fuel, rear part could be better designed, front panels are not stylish and appealing
After a thorough research and few test drives I bought Mitsubishi outlander AWD 2006. Its reasonably well performing SUV. Sound system is good. I was surprised to find it doing poor on fuel consumption than advertised. Comfortable and better grip on snow, rain and slippery roads amazed me. Perfect vehicle for a family of five persons. Luggage space is good too. What I did not really like is the interior design, especially looks of front panels. Mitsubishi could have done better in designing its front panels. Interior design of Mitsubishi 2006 will certainly disappoint a lot of buyers. Its four wheel disc brake and its control is great. Good sound insulation from outside wind. The only thing one would get disappointed is running out of gas so quickly. Overall I admire this crossover. Special attraction was interest free six years finance....read morehide

- Pros
- great overall drive and comfort, acceleration, automatic transmission, ability in sand
- Cons
- none
I can't believe how underrated this car is. Perhaps it has something to do with the slightly outdated styling (old shape - remedied by the 2007 new shape, which looks great). From the moment I test drove one I was sold. I have had it for about 6 months and still look for excuses to drive it. For my fairly limited off road needs (I am a kitesurfer and sometimes have to traverse sandy terrain, which it handles easily) it is excellent. I took it once on very difficult and long 4X4 track down the Wild Coast in heavy rainy conditions and it outperformed my expectations for a soft SUV. Around town the smooth auto gearbox is a dream and it easily accomodates my work files, laptop and all my kiting gear with the back seats folded down. On the highway it cruises very easily at 120k/hr (our speed limit) and with the speedcontrol just about drives itself. Highly recommended....read morehide

- Pros
- Good fuel economy, all wheel drive does a great job here in our Michigan winters.
- Cons
- The backseat head rest some what limits your view out the back window.
The car's exterior and interior have been engineered very well . The ride is very good and the excellaration is sufficient for higheway driving. Easy to park, great ac/heater and the audio system is fantastic. It's well built and with the 100K warranty you have yourself covered for along time....read morehide

- Pros
- Fuel Economy, Comfort, Value, DEPENDABLE
- Cons
- None, I love this car
I have 20,000 miles on my 06' Outlander now. My husband and I LOVE this car. All of our friends comment about liking it, and we even have some looking into buying one.
The car was a great value, we paid around 15K for it NEW. I have a 5 speed manual with the 2.4L engine.
With the stick shift, the car is quite peppy, quicker then any other car I have owned (1.8L corolla sport, hondas etc). More then enough power to pass semis on our steep mountain roads.
No hint of any problems, consumer reports give the car a "good bet" rating. Great on gas, roomy (the rear seats recline, a 6'2" man can comfortably sit in the back seat).
We can fit a lot of stuff in the car also. 3 adults, and 3 mountain bikes fit INSIDE the car (no need for the rack)....read morehide13 out of 14 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Handling is good, lower back feels great after a 16 hour road trip
- Cons
- Gas mileage is alot lower than listed. Power mirrors should have been higher up.
Was impressed on how it handled the trip trough the rocky mountains. Had traveld with 4 adults and no problems handling any grade or curves. Great sound system and comfort.

I have owned this for 4 months and I am absolutely thrilled with it.
The comfortable ride makes me want to have any excuse to drive it,I
noticed a lot of people here compare it to Lexus, to me it is almost identical the Audi A4 lineup.

- Bouncy Highway Ride
I bought my Outlander in September of 06. So far I love it. High ride, side impact airbags and AWD for about 18 grand for the LS AWD trim level. The only thing I don't like is how bouncy it is on the expressway and the fan noise that comes from the vents. The 5 year 100k mile warantee and low insurance rates sealed the deal for me. I was comparing this car against the Subaru Impreza Wagon 2.5i, Toyota Rav4, Ford Focus wagon, and Mazda 3 wagon....read morehide
