Dated Galant

by Paul from Oklahoma (7/23/08)
Cons:Same old looks, fuel economy, quality

Mitsubishi needs to change this Galant from every angle. It has got a terrible fuel economy and does not come up to the standard of other mid-size sedans such as Accord, Sonata, Altima, Camry and Malibu. Galant hasnt even got the comfort as other cars in its class.

Cars made by Mitsubishi are that good! Try it!

by Sheldon from CA (7/20/08)
Pros:Smooth transmission shifting, good fuel economy, affordable, great warranty, quality car
Cons:None to state

I am now a Mitsubishi follower after experiencing high accolates for this Galant. I have owned many cars before and only to realized that Mitsubishi makes quality cars that are still made in Japan. I love cars, especially the Japanese cars, because they have high standard of quality control and less headaches along the road. That is why Mitsubishi can offer 10 years/100,000 mile warranty. Think about it, if cars are this good, they will all offer long, long warranties!

Galant delivers!!

by Galanter! from NYC (7/10/08)
Pros:Looks Great, Rides Great, Waranty is GREAT(100k), Comfortable! SPACY!
Cons:IPod Controls are not so good

I got the 09 Galant Sport Edition, great car. Only thing I dont like is the IPod controls, its kind of annoying, and the music off the ipod is not as loud as the music from the MP3 CD's! Other then that this car is amazing! I dont know why I dont see as many of them in the street, it is probably because of the resale value, but if theyre offering 10 year 100k warranty, then I dont see the issue over here! :D

It makes more sense to buy the Mitsubishi Galant!

by Ralph from CA (7/03/08)
Pros:10 years/100,000 mile warranty clinch it for me to buy the Mitsubishi Galant!
Cons:Other Japanese name brands cannot offer the same warranty & can't stand by their cars!

It made more sense to buy the Mitsubishi Galant than other Japanese name brands because only Mitsubishi can offer a long warranty that shows they are ready to back-up their cars. I have already factored-in the competition in styling, performance, price, fuel economy, comfort, reliability and warranty, that makes only Mitsubishi the lone carmaker to make reliable cars and that equates to savings in the long run! As long as Mitsubishi gives the long warranty, it only proves one thing, they deserve to be the number one carmaker in the world plus their long 91 years in the car making business!

Do you like roller coasters?

by Tim from New York (6/28/08)
Pros:Nice looking, fair price, I like the Sport transmission.
Cons:Cant compair to my Camry. Toyota's got Mitsu beat

The car looks good, but the ride.......well its ok if you like roller coasters! Ive had the car a month now, and without exageration, driving down the very street I drive down in my 04 Camry, you'd think you were on some bumpy road you've never been on before. Driving down my street with my wife in the car, if shes talking, her voice actually shakes, showing what a poor ride it has. The the Camry out...the ride is fine. The car just doesnt make the grade, to me. I should have stuck with Toyota

Mitsubishi cut some corners here...

by John from Florida (6/26/08)
Pros:Mitsubishi did good with the rear of the car
Cons:Ride very rough, very very rough, engine is loud

This is my second Galant. I do like the small change they did to the front of the car. And I love the rear of the car. Like the one review said, it is a head turner in that respect. The sports edition I have does have some nice features my last one did not. And like the other review, I dont like how you cant turn the headlights off when idling.Another con is the large void under the front grill. I had an Eclipse that was like that and a stone hit the radiator, being as there is no protection. I had to get an new radiator at 3K miles.Iam concerned here now too. I also relied on the 12V inside the console box. For whatever reason, they dont have it there anymore, and where it used to be, has a cover over it. Talk about going backwards! All in all I like the car, bu tjust not totally thrilled with it. The interior is kinda cheezy in my opinion. I guess you get what you pay for. All in all I do like the car, Iam just not head over heels with it

Put the car to the max

by Hinds County from Jackson, MS (6/25/08)
Pros:Excellent Fuel Economy and Comfort for a guy that is tall
Cons:jerks a little when accelerating

Very nice car. Excellent fuel economy. I drove this car for nine hours during a trip. The total distance I covered was 700 miles. Once I filled up at home, I did not have to fill up again until I reached 415 miles. Yes, I was counting. With approximately a 15 gallon tank. You will get 30-32 mpg going 85-90 mph for you fast drivers out there. I spent $65.00 on gas at $3.95 a gallon. The car performed very well. And yes, heads were turning. This is a very comftorable car for long distance driving for folks who are tall. The sound system was great and my wife loved it.

Very nice looking car, head turner, but has issues

by Ron from eastlake Ohio (6/20/08)
Pros:Very good looking car, a real head turner for its class. Sport Edition comes with nice features,
Cons:Ride is too rough. Wifes 07 Camry rides much better. Engine sort of tinny sounding and loud.

This 09 is my 5th Galant since my first one in 94. I basically stick with Mits to get the loyal customer discount. However, I do like the body style this year, very classy for is group. I wish the white I have was a real white and not a cream white. Few things I do not like is when you have to idle like waiting for someone with the car running, you cant turn the headlights off. Its very annoying when you sit there with the lights beaming. Also, the interior has this swirly type of design across the dash that makes it look like its got fingerprints all over it. I dont like that at all. Radio controls are on the underside of the steering wheel which I find sort of odd, and inconvenient. The wipers are actually medium speed when in fact they are on high. All in all I like the 09, I just dont like the things I mentioned above.

Galant has character and value for smart buyers

by Alan from CA (5/10/08)
Pros:Good quality build, beautiful styling, strong engine, quiet and comfortable cabin
Cons:Toyota and Honda are not the best in quality, even if resale is a concern!

Bought the Mitsubishi Galant after weighing-in the variables like, styling, quality, performance, reliability, warranty, comfort, price and resale value. Mitsubishi accounted more values and considerations in all aspects of my criteria because its lower by two thousand dollars for the top of the line, styling is prettier with symmetrical shape, quality is Japan reinforce (not Chinese based manufacturing), bigger engine with sportronic transmission, longer basic warranty equals savings in the long term of ownership, reliability translates to good quality made transmissions that works effortless, comfortable and quiet cabin that affords the driver relaxation. Resale is only good if the product is almost perfect and ownership is satisfied in its return as a customer for a particular brand which Mitsubishi will pay good trade-in values for their cars.

Japan's oldest carmaker makes just excellent cars

by Justin from NY (4/15/08)
Pros:Engineering experience, very good performance, nice riding comfort, unique styling, amazing warranty
Cons:None

Japan's oldest carmaker got the experience and wealth of ideas put into the restyled Galant that makes it the most reasonable price mid-size sedan on the market. It has very good performance that makes its engine and transmission lasts for years if maintained and driven right, right riding comfort, good handling characteristic, reasonably priced, excellent 10 year/100,000 mile warranty for power train (engine & transmission) and unique styling that is not bland compared with other brands.
