Great car for the money!

by M. Brehm from Lewisville, TX (2/28/06)
Pros:Lots of bang for the buck! Lots of options!
Cons:Gas mileage could be better.

I bought my 2004 Sorento EX in Feb. of 2004 and I absolutely love it! It has a very roomy seating area (both front and back); nice touches that make it look elegant. Outside looks almost like a Lexus but at half the cost! Handles very nicely and I love the turning radius. I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with my vehicle and I think you definitely get a lot of features for your money. I will definitely keep this as long as I can and then buy another Kia if I have to! The dealership I went to gave me a great deal on it too!

KIA's = Copy Cat

by Jack Johnson from Westwood, CA (2/27/06)
Pros:Great Price
Cons:Looks like the old Lexus RX300

My Buddy just bought one of these. I think that Kia's and Hyundia's are basically copy cats of older models of the luxury cars. Sort of the wannabees of the auto industry. What ever works I guess? I would never buy one tho!

Great vehicle

by Heidi from MI (2/27/06)
Pros:Great look and drive. Warranty is a plus!
Cons:Gas mileage

We've had our 2005 4x4 Sorento since Sept. 2005 and love it! The drive is very smooth and we have had good dealing with our dealership. We get many comments on how nice the Sorento looks and drives. Many say it looks like a Lexis but sure didn't cost that much!! Our only drawback is the gas mileage, but with the price of gas anyway- whatcha going to do? We've also just purchased a 2005 Sedona.

Great SUV with lots of room

by Stacey from Sunny, Florida (2/27/06)
Pros:Very roomy, sits nice and high, drives well
Cons:Gas mileage!!

I've had the 2003 LX model for 2 & 1/2 years and my major complaint is the gas mileage. I love how roomy the interior is compaired to other sport utilities I have looked at. I've had to have all the window seals replaced due to fading but that was covered under warranty.

Kia hits a home run with this SUV!

by Les Martin from Barrie, ON, Canada (2/03/06)
Pros:Great looks, rides solid, good sound system, excellent starndard features
Cons:Heavy on fuel. Needs more leg room on drivers side.

I have had my '05 Sorento for 5 months and love it. Of course the usual clock replacement and I had a problem with the power seat, but the dealer was quick to fix. Great warranty, great styling and enough power to pull my ski-doo trailer around anywhere. I'd recommend this suv to anyone.

LOVE BUT WITH LIMITS

by MELISSA from SAN ANTONIO, TX (1/23/06)
Pros:LOTS OF ROOM, HANDLES GREAT, COOLS GREAT
Cons:NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH POWER DOOR LOCKS,LOVES THE GAS!!

I HAVE HAD THIS CAR ABOUT 6 MTHS, IT'S GREAT AND I REALLY ENJOY DRIVING IT. MY PROBLEM IS THE POWER DOOR LOCKS, I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE BOTH DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCKS, AND FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY KIA, THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE HAVING! OTHER THAT THE DOOR LOCKS AND THE UNWILLINGNESS OF THE SERVICE DEPT, I LOVE MY KIA AND RECOMMEND IT TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY ALL OF THE TIME!

I love my 2005 Sorento

by sorento love from Brooklyn, NY (1/18/06)
Pros:A very elegant looking mid-size SUV
Cons:NONE

Everything works great on mine. (clock, Air bag light etc.). I got the green/gold two tone. I rarely see this color were I live. This is my wife's Car. I have a 2005 chrysler town and country touring van. It's all decked out (Leather, 6 Disc DVD, remote sliding doors, everthing but Nav System). BUT, I prefer the sorento any day of the week. Oddly enough, we bought the 2005 sorento as a cheaper second car after I when crazy buying the mini-van. I drive the sorento on the weekends and really enjoy the ride compared to my van that seems like a big dinosaur. The only thing that I added were tube running boards and rear spoiler. I had the dealer throw in the rear cargo tray. I also added an after market dual screen headrest DVD system to keep my two boys entertainted (Quiet). I am already on my third mini-van in 7 years, but I know I will without a doubt have keep my Srento for at least 10 years. I Love It.

Worth It

by Christa from Fredericksburg, VA (1/09/06)
Pros:Comfortable, Looks Great!
Cons:Fuel Economy, Reverse lock-up (5 speed manual trans)

I do love my Sorento! This is my 3rd KIA purchase and I will continue to purchase them. I have not experienced the electrical problems that other 2005 owners have, however I have had a recent problem with it getting stuck in reverse (5 speed manual transmission) I was backing up a driveway and the whole truck shuddered violently and died. I could start it back up, but the shifter would not come out of reverse. The tow truck drug it onto the roll-back and then I popped out. The dealership looked at it and could find nothing wrong. When I got it home I tried backing up a slight hill again and the same thing happened. I was able to put in into neutral before it locked again, but had a hard time getting it into first. Again they could not find anything wrong with it. It appears to be working fine now, so we shall see.

Kia will get you hooked. But in a good way!!!!

by Adam from Corbin, Ky (1/05/06)
Pros:Smooth ride, great control, best value.
Cons:No DVD player option. Auto-stick isn't fun at all.

I have owned my 2005 Kia Sorento for 6 months now and have almost 10,000 miles. I average 23 miles per gallon on the highway with my K&N air filter going 80 MPH. It has plenty of power for any type of driving and has plenty of room for my 2 kids. It is a beautiful truck and gets mistaken for a Lexus often. The auto stick is not as fun as I thought and there is no DVD player available. A quick trip to the electronics store fixed the DVD problem though. Any serious shopper would consider this an option. I am hooked on Kia. I like my Kia Sorento so much I am replacing my Chevy Cavalier with a Kia Spectra5.

Sorento is the best SUV I've ever driven and owned

by Happy Sorento Owner from Prescott, Arizona (12/31/05)
Pros:Comfort, handling, responsive engine & transmission, excellent brakes, comfortable ride
Cons:Overall fuel economy, digital clock slightly obscured from drivers seat

I absolutely LOVE the Sorento! The cabin is roomy, supportive, and comfortable. Six airbags come standard, including side curtains to protect passengers in the back seats. Bumps are nothing for the suspension, and the engine is quiet but quick to respond. As a short person, I have no trouble seeing - the seats are easy to raise and lower to suit any driver and passenger. The only drawback is the lower fuel economy, but any SUV built as solidy as the Sorento is going to hurt in that department. I can't say enough about how wonderful this car is!
