Nice Starter Car

by CaptainUF from (5/07/09)
Pros:Good Starter car for family, nice size, fuel mileage great for an SUV
Cons:wind heard throughout, feel wind in back seat

I do love this car. Nice first car for my family. We aren't too tall, so we fit in quite nicely. No real major repairs so far and we have had it for 70,000 miles. There is a small blind spot in the back, but most cars have that. My biggest beef is the wind coming in the sides. You can actually feel it when you sit in the back. And it is hard to have a conversation when we drive on the highway, it gets so loud from the wind. I feel like I am driving a jeep or something. The only other thing was the shimmy I had for a while when I braked, but I found out that was a brake issue. In the winterr, there is also a three thump noise that you hear underneath when you first are driving the car in the morning. That is normal, don't worry about it.

Overall I'm Satisfied

by Janet Russell from Riverdale, IL (4/04/07)
Pros:Looks good
Cons:Not a quite car, hear wind coming through the windows/door

This SUV is perfect for my size. I'm a short woman. It's easy to handle. However, my husband who is 6'3" has a difficult time setting in the back. Not recommended for tall adults to sit in the back. Wish the back seat could recline. Not a quite vehicle. If road noise bothers you, this wouldn't be the right vehicle for you. Purchased after market chrome mirrors and gas cover for my Vue. I get compliments all the time.

Safety first, then looks

by Katie from Southgate. (2/17/07)
Pros:Fuel economy and safety

I got the 2006 Saturn Vue shortly after getting into a serious car accident that totalled my 6 month old 2005 Saturn Vue. In my accident with my first Vue I lost control and hit the median wall on the freeway before rolling over 3-4 times and eventually landing upside down on the roof of my vue. Amazingly I was not injured too seriously and I was able to unbuckle myself out of my seat and crawl out the broken window. If you don't believe this, I got proof. But anyhow, I credit this car with saving my life because had it been any other car I probably would have died. Everyone complains that Saturn makes their cars plastic but underneath all that is a steel cage to keep you safe. Thanks Saturn. I will never buy another car from another brand ever again.

Cons:a few rattles but nothing serious

I sold pontiacs and gmc trucks for years (nice cars@trucks) but when I retired I decided to drive something differnt. I am glad I chose a vue.THis is a nice all wheel drive with very nice fuel economy.WE need to get the word out to the american people that we have some very nice vehicles made right here in AMERICA.............

2006 VUE AWD V6 is awesome

by Robert from So Cal / VA (11/17/06)
Pros:MPG, Honda drivetrain, polymer body panels, Saturn buying experience
Cons:No grab handles, no rear cargo cover, cheesy rear cup holders

This is a great SUV. With the polymer body panels and Honda drivetrain, it takes the competition pretty much out of the running. This is my 4th Saturn (SW2 and two LW300s), and it hasn't disappointed at all. I"ve added 18" wheels, performance muffler, splash guards, window vent visors, side step rails, roof rack cross rails, billet aluminum grilles, brushed aluminum interior trim kit (not installed yet), and have a K&N cold air intake kit on order. I'm very pleased with the performance and mpg of my V6 AWD VUE. For those people that are complaining about the mpg, what the heck did you expect? It is a two-ton, all-wheel drive, V6 powered SUV! I've got about 2500 miles on it, and have been averaging in the low 20's for mpg. Best I got so far was around 24 mpg, lowest about 19. For this size of vehicle, with the performanace and looks, I'm more than happy with that. If you're in the market for a small SUV, I'd highly recommend the 06 or 07 VUEs.

NOT UNLESS YOU LIKE A BUMPY RIDE!!!

by Maryanne Woods from Park Ridge, NJ (11/12/06)
Pros:Attractive family car, handles well
Cons:The ride is ridiculously bumpy

I bought this car yesterday and I'm taking it back tomorrow. If you have any tendency towards motion sickness, don't buy this car. It bounces side to side, up and down, and you can feel every bump in the road. I have never in my life gotten carsickness while in the driver's seat, but after driving this thing home, I had to lie down 'til I stopped feeling dizzy. Beware!!!!
