| Pros: | Power, realiability, and fit & finish |
| Cons: | None |
Toyota delivered another winner. I researched hard and long and I always came back to the 4Runner. All of the car sites were correct. The 4Runner has an impressive blend of power, comfort, style, and reliability. I've owned the SUV for over a year and all I've done is change the oil. Did I mention that the fit and finish is better than any domestic SUV in its category. I use to own a 01 Pathfinder SE. It was a good SUV. The 4Runner is a great SUV. Case closed!

| Pros: | fast, comfortable excellent design |
| Cons: | idles s erratically at times, especially when ac is on |
This is as good as it gets. I looked at Tahoes, Pathfinders (still have 1995) and nothing tickled my fancy like this SUV. my 12 year old nephew even noticed that the sound of the door closing mimics a solid sound like luxury car (like my 560SL mercedes) this thing is scary fast and the hardest part is not driving it. I haven't driven my pathfinder and my little convertible has spider webs. I LOVE this SUV!!!!

| Pros: | I love everything about this suv. |
| Cons: | nothing. |
This suv drives like a car and 4x4's like no ones business. It the best of both worlds. It feels like a Lexus in toyota clothing.

| Pros: | solid feel, well finished, strong engine, smooth ride for a 4x4 |
| Cons: | wind noise |
I have had my '05 about 4 months and 3000 miles and so far have been very pleased with it. I have a few minor complaints:
1. wind noise - probably from the large mirrors or roof racks.
2. the dash indicators when the headlights or the crusie control are on are bright green and do not dim when you dim the other dash lights - annoying when driving at night.
3. the remote for keyless entry requires 1 tap to unlock the driver's door and 2 to unlock all doors...problem is that if you don't hit 2 taps in quick succession then only the driver door unlocks...on the other hand sometimes all doors unlock on one tap...go figure.
4. road grit form the back wheel well lodges in behind the bottom of the rear doors - takes extra effort to clean and could potentially be a rust problem from road salt in future .
All pretty minor - the real test will be when I start towing a travel trailer later this spring...will keep you posted.

| Pros: | Silky smooth V8. Very quite while riding with good suspension. Great brakes. |
| Cons: | Would like to see gas mileage is bit better. Slight whine from transmission going 80+. |
Overall, quite satisfied. First import I have owned and can notice the quality difference. Test drove both V6 and V8. The six is definitely noisier, but not bad. The V8 is silky smooth and quite. Not tremendously torqey off the line, but then pulls very stong to redline. Fantasic brakes that can stop this bad boy on a dime, no dive. The Sport package (mainly good suspension upgrade) w/X-REAS suspension is very good with a "sports car" like feel. Definitely worth it if you drive aggressively. Interior room is fine with the typical Japanese ergonomic goodies. The 10 speaker JBL upgrade is fantasic. Definitely worth the $700 if you like your tunes. Can sense a subtle "whine" from the transmission (which I hear is common) when going 80+, but driveline is very tight - again a sign of quality made. I would like to see the mileage a bit better. I drive 55 miles a day w/some city and some freeway and average about 18. I rented a V6 and the computer on it read 23 MPG (and keep in mind that was "rental" type driving).
To sum up, very good choice for an SUV. Lexus type quality (Lexus equivalent is basically just a badged up 4Runner) with minimal problems predicted. Should also hold its resale value quite well.

| Pros: | Powerful Engine, Great Feel Driving, Great Value |
| Cons: | Ride may be a little uncomfortable for 3rd seat riders. |
I love my 2005 Toyota 4runner Sport Edition. I bought a 4runner after having 2 Ford Explorers over the last 10 years. I was a little worried about buying a toyota, but im extremerly satisfied with my 4runner so i purchased a 2006 toyota camry SE and im also very happy

| Pros: | Outstanding styling, decent room for midsize SUV |
| Cons: | Cheap interior plastic trim, anemic V-6, gas mileage, terrible defogger |
I purchased this SUV expecting the typical gem of Toyota quality. I'm sad to say Toyota has slipped significantly in that regard. Yes, the truck looks great, rides decent, and has decent room for a midsize SUV (those of you with multiple kids might as well forget the whole 'midsize' class of SUV in the first place). But there are so many annoying little defects with this machine which shouldnt even be present in a $30k plus vehicle, much less one of Toyota's reputation. The 4.0L V-6 is loud under acceleration, feels awkwardly underpowered, and has a VERY annoying exhaust manifold ticking sound (which Toyota acknowledges is a design flaw in the engine, but is going to do nothing about it). Additionally, there is some faint squeak/rattle that has developed near the front passenger side that no one can isolate the cause of. The interior plastics are so chintzy I was amazed they were used at all (sharp edges along panel lines, cheapo latching mechanism on center console, ultra-cheapo hard plastic access door to front dash storage area, etc). Add to this the utterly ineffective interior window defroster and rear window defogger (will only work somewhat with 'unrecirculated' outside air, meaning you have to choke down fumes in heavy traffic) and you have a real letdown overall.

| Pros: | Alot of room, 4 wheel drive excellent in snow |
| Cons: | sulfur smell sometimes |
I bought my 05 4 Runner in October of 2005. After test driving the Ford Explorer and Nissan Pathfinder I took out the 4Runner. I was very impressed with the power the V-6 provided. More than enough power so skip the V-8 model unless you are doing alot of heavy towing. I think the interior has plenty of room though I think the Nissan felt more roomier. Lots of places to put things i.e. cup holders, change areas. Extra lighter outlets as well for those electronic gadgets like MP3s and sattelite. Overall I really like the way the car drives. I have had a couple of snow storms and was able to get to work without any problems. 1 hour commute in the snow isnt fun but I worry less having this machine around me as oppsed to the Grand prix i had.

| Cons: | The seat warmers are a waste of money! |
I love most things about this car except for the fact that we essentially paid $10,000 more for seat warmers that do not work! We are extremely dissatisfied with the seat warmer feature, they do not get hot, only slightly warm. Every other car I've been in with seat warmers the seats get hot and you have to turn the temperature back a little after having them up all the way, with the 4runner we have had the temp. up all the way and it does not significantly warm up your buns! Extremely disappointed and would not have wasted the extra money to get the Limited edition over the SR5!
