All the hype surrounding the 2015 Ford Mustang is still running strong, and it is only going to get stronger. With reveals for cars like the Mustang, there’s bound to be a number of eager blokes ready to make it even more badass. Enter, the 2015 Ford Mustang Mach 1 concept, done up by our friends over at TopSpeed.
What really made the original Mach 1 so unique was that it was essentially Ford’s first sporty Mustang. In 1969, Ford wanted to make it a point that the Mustang could and would compete with the Camaro and Corvette. The only problem was, they needed a name for it, and thus, the Mustang Mach 1 was born.
Like the classic Mach 1, the 2015 variant that we expect to (hopefully) see, will come with many familiar features. As seen here, the new Mustang would likely sport a signature red and black scheme, a new front and rear design, and some adjustments to wheels and tires, naturally.
Other factors that would make the Mach 1 a step up from the GT would be enhanced performance. TopSpeed projects that this concept will come with 440 horsepower and likely reach 60 mph in the high 3 to 4 second range. We can’t wait to see what really takes shape for the new Pony Car’s performance variants.
