We’ve seen the concepts, we’ve heard the rumors — now, it is (almost) time for the all-new 2015 Mustang to make its official debut. Undoubtedly, this new pony car is set to be one of the biggest American reveals of the year, rivaling the Corvette Stingray.
According to news from Reuters, we can expect to see the new Mustang in the flesh some time in December, with a press preview even earlier than that. This December unveiling will give the Mustang a full head of steam when it goes in display at the Detroit Auto Show early next year.
But before it takes the stage in January, and even before its unveiling in December, a select gathering of press will be on hand to view the new Mustang next week at Ford’s Michigan headquarters. Of course, an embargo will be in place keeping any info and photos out of the public eye until december.
Reports also suggest that the new Mustang will be lighter, use a new rear-drive platform and will have a new look inside and out. The final bit of big news is that the 4-cylinder EcoBoost will be available as an option. Take that as you will.
Full details will be given in December, with 2015 Mustang sales beginning by summer of 2014.
