2015 North American Car And Truck Of The Year Short List Announced

Motor Authority

One of the highlights of the annual Detroit Auto Show is the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards, where the best car and the best truck or SUV available for the latest model year are recognized. The awards have been around since 1994 and rely on the impressions of more than 50 automotive journalists in deciding the winners—including our own Marty Padgett.

To be eligible, a vehicle must have been substantially changed from the previous model and must go on sale in the U.S. and Canada shortly after the announcement of the award at the Detroit Auto Show. The vehicles must also be popular sellers, which means many niche products like those from the exotic brands are ruled out. Last year’s winners were both from Chevrolet: the Corvette Stingray and Silverado 1500.
