Frankfurt Motor Show: The Maserati Kubang

Why yes -- that’s what you think it is a -- Maserati emblem on an SUV. Ku-Bang! Move over, Porsche Cayenne, you’ve got more company.

The Kubang concept was first introduced at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show -- but then the speculation quieted.  Turns out, Maserati is dead serious with the AT 8 speed automatic transmission, enriched with performance settings, crafted under designer Lorenzo Ramaciotti’s watch. While the Kubang is all Maserati DNA, “synergies” with Jeep are suggested as the “catalyst” for development in the release. Both Maserati and Jeep are owned by S.p.A. The Kubang will be developed in Modena by the Maserati Product Development Department and built in my favorite hometown --
