Horsepower, Torque Figures Announced for 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

Dodge is touting its all-new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT as not only the most powerful Challenger in history, but the most powerful of any muscle car to date. The new Challenger SRT features a supercharged, 6.2-liter Hemi Hellcat engine that produces 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque; it's also Dodge's first factory-supercharged Hemi.

This ultra-powerful vehicle includes a safety feature, though. The Hellcat engine comes with two key fobs: a red one, which unlocks the engine's full power, and a black one, which limits the engine's output to 500 horsepower. The latter key, presumably, is to be handed to guest drivers whose enthusiasm might otherwise get the better of them.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT introduces several performance-enhancing technologies, including a new TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission, as well as an all-new interior inspired by the classic 1971 Challenger.
