Part of America’s love affair with the Jeep Wrangler is its adherence to tradition, but every decade or so, the trusty 4×4 needs an update to accomodate changing tastes and fuel economy regulations. To that end, it has been more than a few years since the introduction of a new Wrangler, which had us wondering if and when Chrysler would be working on a new generation. Turns out, Jeep is, and this fact was revealed in the unlikeliest of places; the want ads.
According to Automotive News, new jobs were posted on Chryslercareers.com, looking to take part in the Detroit automaker’s five-year plan. Chrysler obviously declined to comment, but the posting mentions Jeep and the use of high strength steel, and it is also suggested that the next Wrangler may use aluminum body panels.
While this is just a hint of information, the Wrangler doesn’t get overhauled very often, so we’ll always take what we can get.
