I noticed that most of the reviews were from the same year as the model year, so I figured I would provide some feedback AFTER some mileage.
I'm approach 100k. In general, I am satisfied with this truck, but only just. It is versatile and does what it should very well. However, I'm not impressed with the durability. I've had several items go out that really just shouldn't. O2 sensors, warning lamp switches (much more detailed than it sounds!), fuel level switch, and an undiagnosed problem that has it in the shop now. I'm afraid of what this next one might cost. Some things will go out, that's fine. But I've worked in the auto industry for some time and have come to form the opinion that too many of the larger ticket items are just going, and much too soon. Looks good, but durability is definely not there. On the performance side, the truck is quick, drives well, has great ground clearance and does well on farm roads and woods. The OE tires were definitely lacking in traction and contributed to poor braking. Any thing close to a sudden stop was an ABS event. Easily fixed with some better tires.
Last word for me: Not bad, but I'll look elsewhere when the time comes to by another ride....read morehide

- Comfort, looks, powerful engine
- Doors do not automatically lock when shifted into gear. But who care this truck ROCK's
This is the best truck I have ever owned. I test drove many different trucks and found that Nissan is the best.

Have been a Tacoma owner for 141K miles was a great truck but the 2005 Frontier spanks the 2005 Tacoma in all areas.

- V6 that drives fast
- did not get a 5 star on the crash test rating
This truck is fast with it's V6 engine. One of many things I hate, you need Premium to drive this truck on a V6. It didn't get a 5 star goverment crash test rating. Is not a big an comftable as you think. This doesn't compare to the Dodge Dakota wich was best in class in interior room. Another thing its ugly. My son would not be driving this truck...read morehide

- Great Engine! Handles great, spacious interior, and looks great.
- Bumpy ride at times, cheap interior compared to competitors, can only unlock door from driverside.
Was really looking into getting a Titan, but I couldn't stomach 14/19 mpg in California, so I began looking at midsize trucks. This baby more than stepped up to the plate with its large dimension for a truck in this class, and a V6 that provides more power than what some competitors are providing in their V8's. I was amazed at how this truck handled more like a car (though the turning radius is just o.k.), and had a huge grin on my face as I easily blasted through an empty 405 fwy. In my opinion cabin noise is a bit high, but I've been driving small cars my entire life, and it would have been great if they provided a model with an extended bed, but overall I'm satisfied with almost everything this truck provides....read morehide
