I absolutely love my truck. I shopped long and hard. It came down to the Tacoma or Frontier. I went on 6-8 test drives all together. Took a long hard look and the engineering and the Frontier was more solid. The engineers and designers were on the same page when it came to maintenance. I'm a shade tree mechanic who does all the oil changes, etc, and come to admire more and more the functionality of this truck. I have the 4x2 Nismo Crew Cab. Well I brought my Truck even after the horrable dealer experince. I had to Order it from factory and got it late Feb. now I was shocked at first by the size seeing the changes from 2005 to 2006 design was bigger truck but no biggie like how much more room it had than 05 models.

So I still own this truck in 09 still having lots of fun and just now 60k miles on it. so here you go Mileage still same as new even with my lead footed habits. Engine still has the power I have 4.0 V-6 if I could keep the tires from spinning I bet I could give a sports car a run off the line in a dragrace. I wonder if they offer aftermarket Supercahrger still?

Body now this is where I have problem it dents to easly I like to sit on hood and such during 4x4 outings and found this not a good Ideal Ive had to push out a few dents in hood and roof. Now having retrained myself to drop the tailgate to sit and chill problem sovled but this still issue cause it just dents like made of tinfoil so I have lots of ripples in body from pulling or pushing out dent nothing major mind you but still annoying!!Funny thing is the paint job still good with no flaking even where dents had been push out.

Ive read about cheapness of interior but find this no problem seeing this is a 4x4 and mud and such happean but would like to have onethat can be hosed out myself I get submerged from time to time but nothing leaks in at 1/4 up door I find anybody know how much deeper befor water come in Im not wanting to do until I get inside redone but it wold help to know

Normal driving habit are long haul and Offroad and this truck still doing well at highway speeds it handle like sportcar I feel dosnt have steering drift but it is qwick and responsive unlike most trucks Ive had in past even handles well doing 50mph down dirt roads!!! My only beef has been trying to find Bumpers larger Feultanks and such aftermarket 4x4 equipment most is offered for the Titan

I have the 6sp manual which is why I had to order my truck from factory it still going strong and havent found a problem with it even after the Offroad abuse it gets I dont have all the fancy traction control stuff other than locking rear-diff at the push of a button which I like.

I have small beef with the suspension the front being about 1 1/2 lower than back from factory a Lift on the front helps handleing inprove a bit also

I plan to own this truck for as long as I can and still VERY HAPPY with It even if I hate the dealer that I brought from I got a good price paid in cash at below inventory sticker even after troubles with dealer
YES Id buy another if and when the one I have now need to be retiered but dont hold you breath Im think maybe 10 years before ill have to think on it just keep up with the maintance and Ill bet it will run for long time to come...read morehide

I am coming out of a 1984 Toyota to this 06Frontier. The difference is night a and day. For a truck the ride id very comfortable. Controls are well laid out. 4cyl is adequate for my needs. Cabin is very spacious with well made interior. Very nice styling as well.

Best BANG! for your buck. Tacoma 3 k more for less equipt. Toy is good but over priced. Nissan will deal Toy not so much!
If you think you need extra room get the Crew,I made that mistake myself getting KC. I may get the Crew in 08 maybe the NISMO,I'm avid Surf Fisherman and NISMO would work great!
I shopped for 6 months for Midsize truck priced Dakotas,Tacomas and Frontiers . Dodge to many Quality problems to suit me. Tacoma real nice also,but the price over Frontier just not worth it to me. Overall Great buy!...read morehide

Fairly new owner but overall, am very pleased with the vehicle. Better gas mileage would be nice. But, I knew what I was getting ahead of time.

Since there are no reviews for the Nismo 4x2, I figured I give my opinion. I found this truck on a lot for $4K less than sticker. The sales guy told me it was "pinned in", so it was often overlooked for cheaper models. The power from the V6 is awesome. I was surprised when I spinned the off-road tires just getting on the gas a little. It's a comfortable ride, although a little rough if your on a pot-holed street. The King Cab doors are a nice touch. No more kids kicking the front seat getting in. Has the same tough look as the Titan, but parking is alot easier....read morehide

I have had 28000 trouble free miles out of truck and love the looks inside and out. Was going to buy Toyota but have had bad experience with Toyota dealership. This is my fourth Nissan and will not be the last. Some people have had experience with rattles but I have not had any on mine. I bought this truck with some very specific concerns in mind. First of all, I wanted a truck, for cargo purposes, not necessarily for towing. Next, I wanted decent fuel economy, with outrageous gas prices in mind. And finally, it had to come at a decent price.

In my mind, I found the perfect truck. I chose the the XE model because of the smaller engine, and because I wanted the King Cab anyway, for more bed space. Gas mileage is really great, ringing in at 25 mpg highway.

Now besides the really important things, let me just say that this is a really great looking truck. I love everything about how it looks; the front, side, back, the stance, and the grille look absolutely menacing.

Handling is so-so. Steering is smooth and responsive, but the turning radius is really bad. It can be tough to squeeze in to fit into those narrow parking spots, and I often have trouble making u-turns.

Braking is a definate plus. The standard abs gives plenty of stopping power, yet it has a way of staying smooth. I've had bad experiences with brakes that just feel way too hard.

Interior seems to be a pretty polarizing with most people. The plastic, no-nonsense image is probably what Nissan was shooting for, but I would have at least liked a little more chrome trim around some of the instruments. On the other hand, its all easy to wipe down and keep clean. Again, no-nonsense.

And now, probably the biggest question for those wondering about the 4 cyl.: How does it perform? Well, it really is a matter of your expectations and needs. I bought this truck knowing it wouldn't be very powerful, so I was definately not disappointed when I first drove it. After having it for about six months now, I've definately noticed some times when an extra oomph would have been welcome, whether that be hilly roads, quick lane changes, or a large bed load. However, its not incredibly debilitating, and normal driving won't be a problem.

Overall, I find this truck, more specifically, this trim, to be highly recommendable. Its a great value and perfect for those who are more economical at heart. But, don't think this is a poor man's truck, or a 2nd best choice. Bottom line, if you need a truck with good fuel economy, this is it....read morehide

Great truck so far only put 2000 miles on it do'nt know why most people are saying the V6 does'nt have good gas mileage for the most part it's about 22 to 23 mpg if you dont romp on it and keep it under 80 mph I keep it at about 70 on the Interstate.

i have a 2006 frontier se 4x4 this car makes good power and can tow my 20 foot bass boat with eas only thing i dotn like about his truck is too compact back seats are way to small to fit 4 guys. passerger seat on the back keeps gettin kicked knocked off. other than that it a good truck i presonal just dont like it. gettin a tacoma soon...read morehide
