Bought this truck new and has never failed me. Always a comfortable ride on long road trips. I have gone on many mountain roads i did not think possible with this truck and have yet to get stuck(i have had to put it in 4-wheel low once or twice and crawl out).

- Extremely comfortable, good interior layout, good visibility, great heat and a/c.
- Mileage could be better. Does not allow use of standard chains, and no chains at all on front tires.

This truck replaced a 14 year old Nissan. Would have liked it to be the same size, but it appears that all trucks have been upsized. Have had Dodge, Ford and Nissan trucks and this is the most comfortable of all. Looked at Toyota because of their reputation, but did not want to spend and extra 5 grand for the name, and it was not as comfortable as the Nissan.
Good power for towing and hauling a full load. More comfortable than my Subaru on a 2,000 mile trip. Empty on the highway average 22 mpg but with a load drops to 18.
Since I live where there is snow 4 or 5 months out of the year and I hunt where there is lots of mud, would have liked to have the option to put standard chains on all 4 wheels. The only option for regular chains is a lift kit. Stock tires are ok for 4 wheeling on dry, rocky areas, are marginal on snow and ice and pretty bad on mud. 4 wheel drive works great as long as you can get traction.
Oversize cupholders are great - easy to use and catch my spills. Radio/cd and heater controls are within easy reach, well laid out and easy to understand. Truck handles well both on and off road and rides better than my past trucks. My wife even enjoys driving this one! Would buy it again without question, but would probably go with the pro4x 4x4 for the off road advantages. Will have to see what is available when this on wears out in 15 or 20 years....read morehide

- Good Looking.....Fuel Mileage....Rides Great....Quiet On The Road...Quality Build Shows
- Instrument Lights Don't Have A Dimmer Switch....WTF !

This truck rides real nice. It's quiet in the cab when on the road. The fit and finish is excellent. The interior looks to have good quality plastic on the dash and door panels compared to other's I've seen. The engine has adequate power and the 5 speed automatic transmisson shifts smooth. The king cab space behind the seat is good for cargo but the smalll seats back there are only useful for small kids if even that.
I have just over 4K miles since I bought mine. I get between 20-22 MPG on combination driving. I have not done a strictly highway trip yet.
Overall.....I have had no issues with this truck. I believe it's the best looking truck in it's class. Toyota's and Dodge's are just plain ugly up front. Rangers.......Well....There's a lot of Ranger out there and they haven't changed much in the last decade or so.
Test drive this truck. You just might like it....read morehide

- This truck is great. Looks, feel, not too big, not too small, and much cheaper than the Toyota Tac.
- I am yet to find something I don't like about it, only had it for 176 miles so far, so still brand n

Here is the deal, I needed to get into a small size truck, wanted decent gas mileage, and something that was a step up from the ford ranger I had previously. The ranger gave too many transmission problems, so that was something which needed to out of the question.
I really liked the looks of the Toyota Tacoma, but was not going to afford a new one, no way. Also, the $10k price range I set for a used one was going to get me one with 100k plus miles, and not have the large tires etc... or it would have to be a beat up used truck. That was not a good option either.
So, my father went and looked at the frontiers, then he told me to do the same. Great move, great decision it turns out.
The new Frontier King Cab SE, with the power package I got is Black. it looks very slick. Nice chrome bumpers on both sides which looks so much better than the plastic Ford Ranger is putting out these days. Also, the tires are of perfect size. There is nothing that needs to be done to the truck, except I am putting in a bedliner on the bed next week.
As for the price, I paid $18,518 out the door including taxes, reg, etc...
So with that, I was pretty happy, I had a quote from another dealership here in the Bay Area for three hundred below that, but that truck was a different color and did not have the $1080 power package option, so I felt I received a great deal.
So far, the driving is better than I expected. Since test driving it, I am starting to like it more and more everyday. I plan to drive it to the moon, so something like 277,000 miles or so....read morehide
