2008 Nissan Titan King Cab
There are 4 user reviews for the PRO-4X 4X4 SWB trim shown below
- Plenty of power, fast, comfortable, nice exhaust note, one of the best interiors i've seen in trucks
- Poor mileage as can be expected from a truck, extended cabs don't have power rear sliding window
I got my 2008 titan pro 4x about 6 months ago and I really like it. I've seen other reviews that complain about mileage, and yes it isn't good around 13mpg. But it is a full sized truck with 317 horsepower, it's not going to get good mileage. Offroading is lots of fun, handles snow like it isn't there. Overall i'm very satisfied so far....read morehide

- Lots of extras for the $$. Strong V8 & smooth tranny.
- Not as quiet as the F-150. Not as fast as the Tundra
I am a little biased toward Fords. I own 2 Broncos and my 78 is my pride and joy, but..... The Nissan Pro-4x King Cab was by far the best overall truck for the money. I made an offer on an F-150 FX-4 and I think I am glad I did not buy it. The power of the Nissan V8 really makes the F-150 look bad. I ended up with the spray in bed liner, tie down system, leather interior with all the extras for many thousands less than the Ford. I drove the Toyota and I really liked a lot of things about it, but for me to get all the features I wanted I was going to have to pay for a lot of other features that I did not want. The only feature I wanted in my Nissan that I did not get was the power sliding rear window. I was going to have to spend $6,000 more than the Nissan to get the same features on the Toyota and some of the features I got on the Nissan are not even available on the Toyota The Yotas engine and 6-speed did feel like it had more power than the Nissan. I think Toyota has over done the whole size issue. The new Tundra is almost too big for a 1/2 ton. If you have ever driven a Hummer H1 then you know what it is like to be in a huge interior cabin and still have a lot of wasted space....
The Nissan has a much better motor than the Ford or Dodge Hemi. The Ford and the Dodge were both sluggish compared to the Titan. For a 1/2-ton 4x4 truck the Nissan has the best mix of features for the money. I really like the bed liner and tie down system and all the storage options for the Titan....read morehide

- Tons of power and torque. Comfortable. Factory spray-on bedliner
- Gas milage. Towing is about 500 lbs less the competition.
If you are in the market for a full-size truck then I definitely recommend that test drive the Titan. I drove the 08 Tundra, F-150, Silverado and the Titan. All of the trucks have their pros and cons. I chose the Titan because of the decent factory incentives that Nissan was offering and also because the Titan is a solid truck. Some reviewers gave the Titan one star yet they drive older model Nissan's. The Titan was redesigned for 08 and Nissan addressed the problems that have plagued the older models (i.e braking problems, issues with the rear end etc). I've also not experienced any problems with the dealer where I bought the truck. Other reviewers complained about poor service at Nissan dealers. There are bad dealers no matter what the truck brand. I traded in a Ford F-150 for my Titan. The service I got at my local Ford dealer was horrible. Giving the Titan a lower rating because someone has a bad experience at a Nissan dealership is unwarranted in my opinion. The Titan has tons of power and is far more responsive than a Ford or Chevy. The Tundra has more horsepower but I didn't like the ride as much. Toyota has also been having problems with their new 6 speed transmissions, transfer cases and tail gates. All of the new 1/2 trucks on the market are good. The bottom line is that you need to test drive them all and find the one that you like and that suits your needs. I've yet to have a problem with my 08 Titan and I've very hard on trucks. I highly recommend the Titan. It...read morehide
