- Gorgeous, Powerful, and plenty of nice surprises!
- Blind Spot, So perfect that I can't bear any scratch on it!
I bought the ALTIMA Coupe fully loaded (SE version) with 3.5L V6, I wanted LEATHER to go with a car of this class, as well as nice ALLOY WHEELS. This prestigous new ingenius design by Nissan does not deserve anything less!
I knew that V6 is a trustworthy power engine from my previous Hyundai Coupe. The SHIFTRONIC (CVT) technology creates a smoothness which is something that one has to feel for oneself. I went from 0-100mph (only because Puerto Rican road didn't allow me to go much faster!) without feeling a gear shift! In fact, since I bought this baby two weeks ago, I haven't felt a gear shift!
My final choices came down to this brand new Nissan 2-door and the very close match Accord Coupe. Absolutely no regret. Saved $4k by choosing Nissan over Honda, and I cannot imagine what more HONDA could have offered me! They are both good-looking coupes, but ALTIMA is winning me over more each day. I find myself staring at my own coupe, esp. from the rear! And when walking away from this white (winter frost) princess, I have to stop myself turning back for a look!
Ample beverage holders, sunglasses holder, autodim back mirror, electric driver seat position control, iPod jack, and steering wheel control are all great stuff that makes inside of the car more of a pleasant place to be. But nothing impressed me as much as the INTELLIGENT KEY - opening & locking doors & trunk; switching the engine on & off... all with the key in the pocket. It's not just magical and cool, you'd be surprised how much easier life is without searching for the keyhole and making sure of pressing the right button on the remote!
I'm yet to discover the real fuss about BOSE system, altho there is no complaint either. But linking my phone thru Bluetooth (standard with car) is a safe and convenient feature. Being in the Caribbean means that the car seat heater is not of much use, neither is the satellite radio. I could do with a Sat Nav, and a slot for mobile phone (bluetooth doesn't mean I want to leave my mobile in my pocket!)
Pleasantly surprised with the size of back seats and trunk - not bad at all for a coupe. I have taken adults in the back seats, and my weekly shopping never challenged the trunk size. Blind spot? Probs the only con, but find me a coupe without this problem.
Fuel consumption? Don't buy a 3.5 V6 if you fly economy coach. Having said that, if I can do average 23mpg in on Puerto Rican road, you can do better!
