I love my Altima. If it as reliable as the 2003 that I bought my daughter when she turned 16, I will get my moneys worth. Her's has 196000 miles on it and all that has ever been done to it is regular maintenance.

- Pros
- good power, accelaration, smooth CVT/sport shift
- Cons
- Xeon HID in cheap looking halogen lense

Good looking, performance and value. I bought the 3.5 because of the v6 power, but the 2.5 also is a very good deal given the lower MSRP compared with the v6. I like the smooth CVT shifting and sport mode is fun and very helpful if you want to force it into a certain gear especially going up or down a steep hill. This car earns 4.5* from me despite the performance/price b/c of the cheap design of the Xenon HID light. Nissan probably tries to squeeze out all the outdated HID stock putting them on the Altima. You want to have both the HID quality and HID look. I've had the car for less than a week, so no accurate measures for MPG yet. The sticker claims 20/27 city/hwy (I think it's an hornest claim) which is in the low range of this v6 class compared with other cheating MPG's from competitors. But I am sure most people should get right in between for the average driving. Overally I really like the car and my decision....read morehide

- Pros
- Good pick-up with smooth auto. shifting, the headlights and break lights look good.
- Cons
- No rear view camera, I have also heard that the tire pressure gauge malfunctions with age

This car is better than a truck, it will save you gas money and has lots of airbags, but not too many. The seats are comfortable and the car is fun to drive.

- Pros
- Great value

I had an Infiniti i30 which was a great car, but with the price of gas it's great to fill up with regular grade. I got my Altima with zero percent financing and got a great deal. I like the fact that if I don't want to buckle the seat belt the car doesn't sound an alarm over and over until its buckled. In this day of ultra sensitive safety concerns, to me that's a liberty feature....read morehide

Everything about this car screams CHEAP. Flimsy thin plastic trim, body rings the metal is so thin and unbraced. Just tap the door with your knuckle and listen to the tin can rattle of this beast. Obviously the testers didn't drive anything else. Would highly recommend you stay away from this vehicle....read morehide

I bought my Altima in 2008 traded it off the other day with only 31000 miles on it. Why? I could not stand to drive it. I bought it because I thought all Japanese cars were created equal. Not so. My Hondas and Toyotas have all been much better cars than this was. I'll start by saying from the day I drove it off the lot the drivers seat would clunk from side to side as I would turn right to left. I took it in and was told if they replaced it that it would just do the same thing. Huh. The interior had a rattling head liner and center consol. Left speaker cut in and out all the time. Brake switch malfunctioned from time to time keeping the car from starting. The brakes were sooooooo touchy, either they were not applied or you were about to go through the windsheild no in between. 2.5 with CVT was incredibly gutless and annoying. I could walk to work faster and it sounds like you are driving a snowmobile with the CVT. I feel as if I wasted 22K on this POS. Never another Nissan for me....read morehide

- The Intelligent Key system had an "issue" for 2 days. It corrected itself, though.

Purchased a new 2012 Altima 2.5 with the upgraded SL, Convenience and Convenience Plus Packages, exterior color is Super Black with a Charcoal leather interior. The 2.5 liter engine runs smoothly and coupled with the CVT, it is a pleasure to drive moving down the roadway effortlessly. Has everything but a navigation system and in-dash DvD. Does have the in-dash factory back-up camera safety system. We already own a Garmin GPS and a vehicle ready DvD player, so those options were not a deal breaker. So far, an affordable and worthwhile investment. Smooth and enjoyable ride, quiet and comfortable for in town and highway trips. The 8 way electric driver seat with electric lumbar support adjustment adds a nice touch for the driver. We opted for the 9 speaker Bose stereo, which was part of the factory upgrade package. It is a far cry better accoustically than the standard AM/FM/CD in-dash unit found in a basic level Altima or even the Altima S model. This vehicle was bought for the wife to commute to and from work, and haul the grandson around in as an upgrade from a 2007 Nissan Sentra S (which was an EXCEPTIONAL vehicle in every respect, too). The moon roof is a nice touch and with the air deflector add-on, it is awesome to get fresh air without getting blown all over the interior. Added a Charcoal color dash cover, smoked window vent visors and 35/15 level window tint (needed here in the deep Southern U.S.). Had a minor issue with the Intelligent Key for about 2 days, but the system apparently corrected itself. More than likely it was something we did or maybe didn't do right because there are so many varying options to learn about. Have owned this vehicle for about 3 weeks now and would recommend it as a solid performer. My wife waited over 5 years for this vehicle and appears to be pleased with her choice. Happy wife - Happy life! Pretty easy math equation. The end....read morehide
