I bought this car used, 2012 Altima 2.5s with 5,600 miles. Let me start by saying overall I LOVE THIS CAR. I would recommend it to anyone. It runs like such a better car than all the others I've owned. The best aspect of this car for me is the CVT transmission. I am someone who hates driving a slow car. Unforunately, my budget at this point in life (post-college) doesn't exactly allow for a v6. As soon as I test drove this car I thought this has to be a v6. Nope, it was only a 4 cylinder CVT. This car is plenty fast!! With this one you don't really need to worry about making a fool of yourself trying to pass others :) And after driving this transmission, it's safe to say I will never own a car without a CVT. The ride is SO SMOOTH - you don't feel any shifting. No jolts or hesitations of any kind... it's almost an eerie feeling! (In a good way of course.)
Ok, that's the best thing about the car. The worst thing is, unfortunately, a pretty big issue. The interior of this car is where I can tell Nissan saved money. (At least with cloth seats) the materials feel and look pretty cheap. Leather interior may very well be a different story. The dashboard looks like plastic and the radio and entire console in general looks like nobody put much effort into it. A very small but important issue to me is the viser. This thing is a joke... I pull it to the left side of my head, and it doesnt even reach the start of my face, so it does absolutely nothing. I'm left with at least 6 inches, completely exposed to the sun. :\ Not sure what I'll do about that. Seats: the back of the seat is comfortable, but the bottom is quite flat and hard.
Even though there are many things needing to be improved inside, I would still highly recommend this car in every other area. If you buy I would recommend spending more for interior upgrades, and you'll be golden. Overall I am very satisfied with this car because it drives amazingly and gives me all I need....read morehide1 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Exellent fuel eonomy, great handling in icey and snowy road conditions
- Cons
- not many options for it being the mid level trim
Purchased As New
I love this car. It gets great gas mileage on the highway. Even in town mine gets around 28, which I also think is great. It handles very well on snowy/icey roads. There is some "drag" or hesitation when you stomp the gas to pass someone or get on the interstate, but one it shifts it rolls out! I would have thought the mid-level trim such as this should have had a few more options. Would have been nice if it came with a dis changer or sun roof. But those details are minor. This was a great buy!...read morehide

I've had the car for 9 months now. In spite of the "cons" above, I love this car. I am so glad I went with the rave reviews, and will stick with Nissans.

- Pros
- Performance, handling, interior quality, very quiet
- Cons
- no memory feature for mirror/steering wheel position
Purchased As New
Excellent car, feels solid on the road, very stable at any speed, great handling in snow, and rain. Entertainment system is a MUST have and is awesome. Purchased fully loaded 3.5 SR, with every option available under great USAA pricing. Trunk is massive, engine has a good kick when passing needed, very responsive. I wish the car came with seat/steering wheel and rear/view mirror memory feature...they added to 2013 model. The only complaint is that the 9 bose speakers make the back interior/trunk area rattle even at 1/4 of the volume (low side). Have driven the car for 11,000 miles. Change oil every 3000 miles regardless of what dealership says (every 3500/5000 miles) using synthetic oil blend. Performance lessens after oil reaches 3500 miles. Electronics function very well, no problem with all the internal/external sensors that come with the car.
Very happy!!, highly recommended!!...read morehide4 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

I have driven Toyota Camry before but this car (2012 Nissan Altima 2.5S) is one of the best car I have driven. I had this car for 7 months now and enjoy it so much. Interior quality is excellent. I love the material they use in the dashboard. This car uses one of the best tire in the market.

I love everything about this car. Good vision from all angles, handles well in the snow, love the darkening rearview mirror, backseats are comfortable and roomy too. I sweetened my deal with heated leather seats. I highly recommend them! Lastly, I know my Nissan is going to last me a long time. My husband has had Nissan trucks for years and stands by their reliability.Don't hesitate to buy it. I have enjoyed every minute of owning mine....read morehide

- Pros
- Excellent fuel economy, performance and handling.
- Cons
- No USB port standard....have to spend 28k for that little guy!

I have owned many Nissan's over the years, everything from the original Sentra SE-R to the top of the line Maxima. I drive about 45 miles per day round trip and this Altima has been perfect. Plenty of get up and go, great gas mileage and room for the family. Now I did drive the 3.5 SR...wow just what the senses need...wife said "really?"
Needless to say got the 2.5S with the 20th anniversary package. It has all the goodies you'll really need...Bluetooth, Homelink mirror and all that fun stuff. If you are looking for a good solid ride that reliable but still fits in the family budget then this is your car....read morehide5 out of 6 people found this review helpful.
