A great car.
My wife and I had been in the market for a while looking for the perfect car for us. We test drove the new Accord, and the Camry; researched the new Passat, the Legacy and some turbo models, before finally finding the perfect combination of all in one car.
The Accord is a really nice car with great features, and the dealer was very helpful as well, but the car is a bit pricy. And to top that, the dealer told us right away that he won't be able to negotiate the price too much. Also, the seats were not very comfortable, in fact they were the worst of the three we test drove. Our thinking was that the touring model will cost us about $32-35k (after negotiating), and we weren't sold on the looks and the seats. So we walked.
Camry just felt like at least two steps behind the competition. Exterior didn't appeal us, interior was flat, and lacking that luxury feeling a $30k plus car should have. So, that was also a no. My wife is a big camry fan, she owned a 2011 Camry v6. But, even she admitted that the new Camry is not up to par.
The Passat looked like a perfect choice to us, but the price was just too high. The Subaru Legacy has the all wheel drive. We also thought of test driving one. But honestly, it just skipped our minds.
I have heard a lot about the new turbo models, the Fusion, the Optima and the Sonata. Great looking cars (better than any of the cars previously mentioned), and good gas mileage too. We were just skeptical about leaving a perfect v6 for an i4 turbo. We had heard that the ride is bumpy, and the engine is prone to more wear and tear due to extra turbocharger parts.
It was all relevant until we walked into a Nissan dealership, and then all arguments went out the window. We could not believe that it was Altima. It was refreshing inside and out. Zero gravity seats are the best in business. Very comfy ride with luxury feeling. We were sold right after the rest drive. We walked on two different Nissan dealers before finally settling for the perfect car and for the perfect price. We purchased a storm blue Altima 3.5 SL charcoal interior with tech package. Simply put, the best purchase of my life so far. My friend owns a G37, and he was jealous of what he was staring at. The car truly looks and feels a lot better than its price. Add in Nisan connect apps with text to speech integration, you really have something in your hand.
I can go all day praising this new vehicle of mine, but it still won't justify how great it really is. Test drive one (with or without a prejudice mind, won't matter), and I promise you will feel just as good as I did.
