2006 Nissan Armada
There are 14 user reviews for the 4X4 LE trim shown below
- Acceptable comfort, good acceleration, storage, fold down seats.
- Breaks and rotors needing replacement (2006 LE model) at 14,000 !
Purchased As New
Was impressed with it when first purchased, until we began having problems with the brakes. VDC light on, brake light on. Dealer said we need new rotors and pads with the vehicle having only 14,000 miles and they handed us an estimate of nearly $900.00 to do this!
Despite having their best extended warranty, along with the maintenance agreement, this is the out of pocket they expect to be paid with such little mileage.
I would not purchase another one, because this does not seem to be a problem that has been solved, nor are they interested in solving. After "service" they didn't even top off the fluids!
It was the first Nissan we purchased, and it will surely be our last....read morehide

- Quality, looks, handling, styling, ease of controls
- Gas Mileage, Cruise Control functons need to be lit
We got a great end of year deal on our Armada. We have 2 kids and there is plenty of room for bags and other things. We have the captains chairs in the middle row and I wish I had the bench seating instead. Only for the kids. Gas milage is horrendous but I knew all of that before purchasing the vehicle. Test drove the Sequioa, Expedition, and Tahoe before settling on the Armada. The looks just drew us to it....read morehide

- very roomy interior, nice power, sharp looking
- climate controls, roof console vibrates, fuel economy bad
I bought a dealer demo 06' with 6,000 miles on it. I love the looks of the vehicle and always buy Nissan's because they are a quality product. I have a 00' Frontier and it is a warrior truck with 107,000 miles on it. I love the interior room of the vehicle and the power and pick-up is great. It is a big vehicle but rides and handles excellent. The exterior design of the vehicle is very eye appealing and puts the other big SUV's to shame. The only real concern I have is the center roof console with the DVD and storage compartment seems to rattle quite a bit. The climate controls take a little to get used to but overall they are tolerable. I was prepared for the bad fuel economy from the get-go so I don't consider it a big issue. Overall I fell in love with the truck and waited patiently for a couple years to get it. Now that I have it I am not disappointed at all and look forward to many years of driving around my "BIG RIG"!...read morehide

- Effecient 4WD in desert/sand, internal space good.
- Could not find any
After four months of experiencing Armada LE 4x4 2006, I can say it is a great value for the money. It is according to my expectation fits all my requirements for family and for joy times. I am amazed how effeciet its 4WD system, specially in free sands.
I have two points that I would like to share here. First, it is a 5.7 lit engine car which makes its feul consumption very high, so it is really not a day-to-day ride. Second, even the LE trim is not desinged to be a luxurious car, so do not have a higher expectation.

- HUGE towing capacity of 9100 lbs, load leveling, lots o' power, Bose and GPS rocks, rides nice.
- MPG sucks (13 avg, 7-9 with trailer), int. easily damaged by seat belts, no keypad entry
We have the LE with all the trimmings sans DVD screen. Have owned for about 4000 miles now. Lots of power in this 305HP-V8 coupled with a nice 5-speed auto tranny. Tows trailers REALLY well thanks to large towing capacity, auto load leveling and tow mode function. Has good brake feel and power too. Bose stereo system is very nice.
* MPG is really bad given this is a brand new vehicle with state-of-the-art components...c'mon people, wa can do better.
* Wish it had a keyless keypad entry
* Plastic panel adjacent to where the seat belts rest (when not in use) is damaged easily when you release the belt.
* Front tires seem to be wearing bad (looks like improper toe-in to me). Took to dealer, said it's all in spec. I don't care, it ain't right.
* 2nd row seats are weird to lower down and don't slide fwd or aft.
* 3rd row seats are nearly unusable for adults.
* 2nd row mats don't fit the vehicle properly, maybe we got the wrong ones with the vehicle.
Overall, though, we are VERY happy with this vehicle so far. Given that it is not domestic, it will probably last longer than a comparable Tahoe or similar vehicle (and I am VERY pro-American, but vehicle longevity can certainly stand some improvement)....read morehide

- NOT SO GOOD
- YES ROUGH RIDE,
I bought a new Armada in 2006 in replacement of my 2004 Armada, I love this truck and its looks.
Ride is a little stiff and little uncomfy compared to other SUVs that I have driven.

- Superior styling, Excellent engine performance, Comfortable long distance driving
- Gas Mileage but improvable with aftermarket
I have the 2005 4wd LE Black. I strongly considered the Escalade or the Denali with the larger engines but in comparison to the Armada they were not even close. The Armada styling in my opinion is a cross between a Hummer and an Escalade. The only difference is that you don't have to pay the higher price and you get Japanese engineering Quality. I was a Ford guy my whole life but never again. When you hit the accellerator on the Armada the power is like right now and lots of it! I do lots of Snow boarding and this is the ultimate Snow Vehicle. I have never had to use chains because of the mulitple choice 4wd options. Nissan could modify the roof rack a bit because the current one limits your options for snow board/ski racks or cargo carriers. I could not just put on a Thule cargo carrier without a lot of aftermarket modifications. Put a Billet Grill and custom wheels on this thing and with the Galaxy Black paint you will definately turn heads. My neighbor has an Armada SE (which motivated me to get one). He however has had problems with the brakes every 5K miles. I think my LE was made after June 05 so I have been lucky. 11K mile on this thing and all I have done is rotate tires and change oil. Gas mileage overall driving is initially...read morehide

- Looks, Ride, Comfort, Navagation system, DVD, Sirius, Handling, sun roof
Had the brakes and rotars replaced free due to factory defect. Purchased this vehicle two months ago for my wife now has 4,000 miles. Best SUV we've owned. My sister has a Lexus SUV she paid twice as much and after driving her vehicle the only difference I can tell you of beside the price is the insignia on the hood. All the bells and whistles at half the price of a Lexus! Outstanding....read morehide

- Excellent ride & power. Fully equipped LE has all the options you need and the interior space is top
- Haven't seen any yet. It it hard to park in tight areas, but who cares.
We drove all of the competitors and the Armada LE is by far the best value for the money. Forget American competitors like Ford Expedition & Chevy Tahoe, not even close for comfort, quality, and ride. Other luxury SUV's are overated as well including Lexus GX 470 and BMX X5. If you want a car that rides higher go for those. For my money, the Armada LE fully loaded with navigation, entertainment, and large interior is second to none. The only other consideration was the Infinity QX-56 or Toyota Seqoia. The Armada is basically the same as the Infiniti for less money, and the Seqoia was a disappointment. Nice interior, but if you are going to spend $50K on an SUV, it should have some room and power. The Seqoia has neither. You need to rip out the second and third row seats just to have any space. Armada, Armada, Armada! Nissan has gotten it right with this truck. It rules the road!...read morehide
