2006 Nissan Armada User Reviews
4X2 SE shown
- $11,882 - $14,789
- I Average 16.1 MPG at 80 MPH on the Highways, I Transport 7 Adults, When I drive 55 MPH I Average 18
- Nissan had a recall onthe brakes, It solved that problem.
I have owned the SE 4 by 4 since december of 2005. I needed a versitle vehicle for my business. I can tow my Bobcat, Boats without even noticing they are behind me. The towing capacity is unbeleivable. I own one ton vehichles that don't give me the same performance. While towing 8,000 lbs I averaged 12.7 MPG. My one tons maybe 8.5 if I had a tailwind. Every client that gets in my Armada says the same thing "This is very nice". I came from a Ford, Chevy, and Dodge Background. My brothers are getting 12 MPG with their deisels and Hemi's. I have 7 brothers. Sure they can pull 20,000 lbs. But they have no heat in the winter in Minnesota, and cannot transport 7 adults. My 2005 nissan Armada has a 4 wheel drive system that is so sure footed that I demonstrate it to anyone who wants to see how quickly you can stop in a straight line without sliding and how fast you can get back upto speed without slipping a tire. I now have 50,000 miles on my Armada and I have been nothing short of Amazed by all I have asked it to do and how well it has performed. I chose the Armada because of the Quality that was in the 1995 pathfinder xe I still own. My wife and I are so impressed with quality in Nissan's that my wife just ordered herself a new 2007 pathfinder S 4 by 4. I am selling the 95 pathfinder to a freind. I would recomend Either of them to anyone whose looking for Quality and durability. Thank You for your Time...read morehide

- HUGE towing capacity of 9100 lbs, load leveling, lots o' power, Bose and GPS rocks, rides nice.
- MPG sucks (13 avg, 7-9 with trailer), int. easily damaged by seat belts, no keypad entry
We have the LE with all the trimmings sans DVD screen. Have owned for about 4000 miles now. Lots of power in this 305HP-V8 coupled with a nice 5-speed auto tranny. Tows trailers REALLY well thanks to large towing capacity, auto load leveling and tow mode function. Has good brake feel and power too. Bose stereo system is very nice.
* MPG is really bad given this is a brand new vehicle with state-of-the-art components...c'mon people, wa can do better.
* Wish it had a keyless keypad entry
* Plastic panel adjacent to where the seat belts rest (when not in use) is damaged easily when you release the belt.
* Front tires seem to be wearing bad (looks like improper toe-in to me). Took to dealer, said it's all in spec. I don't care, it ain't right.
* 2nd row seats are weird to lower down and don't slide fwd or aft.
* 3rd row seats are nearly unusable for adults.
* 2nd row mats don't fit the vehicle properly, maybe we got the wrong ones with the vehicle.
Overall, though, we are VERY happy with this vehicle so far. Given that it is not domestic, it will probably last longer than a comparable Tahoe or similar vehicle (and I am VERY pro-American, but vehicle longevity can certainly stand some improvement)....read morehide

- NOT SO GOOD
- YES ROUGH RIDE,
I bought a new Armada in 2006 in replacement of my 2004 Armada, I love this truck and its looks.
Ride is a little stiff and little uncomfy compared to other SUVs that I have driven.

- Overall beats similar suv's. good Price makes up for high gas cost
- price of gas, period.
Price of gas makes this vehicle be underpriced.
For us a family with 3 kids is perfect. a Mini van was to small.
Just had it for 2 days, will comment again in 1 month.

- Fuel economy consistent. Comfortable ride. large spacious interior. Factory accessories easy install
- None so far
I've had my 06 Galaxy Black Armada SE 4X4 for about 2 months now and love every minute of it. We looked at all the full size SUVs because of a new addition to the family. We wanted something to accomodate the family, tow the boat (18" Bayliner), all the usual gear, but still have lots of power. Looks also had a big part in it. Since I work for a major dealership, I was able to drive all the SUVs numerous times to make sure I got the right one for me, with out getting harrassed. All done and said, the Armada won. Just with all the standard safety equipment on the Armada, like the side curtain airbags and back up sensors, made the Armada stand out. Those of you who have to parallel park often will love the back up sensors! The stereo has a AUX hole so my Sirius satellite radio and IPod play right thru the stereo, no FM transmitter ruining my music! The interior is really comfortable, especially on longer trips. Some dont like the fact that the Armada has such a big appearance, but you'll be thankful for that fact since no one will be able to say they "didnt see you". No one seems to tail gate me or cut me off anymore! As far as those concerned with fuel economy, what are you doing looking at a full sized V8 SUV? FYI on the brakes, Nissan took care of the brake issue on the 2006. There are plenty of options out there if you're concerned with fuel economy but still need the size. If you're willing to be realistic about what you're driving in relation to fuel economy, you should really consider the Armada. I love, my wife loves it, and all my friends who've ridden in it love it. Another great product from Nissan, you wont regret it!!!...read morehide

- Superior styling, Excellent engine performance, Comfortable long distance driving
- Gas Mileage but improvable with aftermarket
I have the 2005 4wd LE Black. I strongly considered the Escalade or the Denali with the larger engines but in comparison to the Armada they were not even close. The Armada styling in my opinion is a cross between a Hummer and an Escalade. The only difference is that you don't have to pay the higher price and you get Japanese engineering Quality. I was a Ford guy my whole life but never again. When you hit the accellerator on the Armada the power is like right now and lots of it! I do lots of Snow boarding and this is the ultimate Snow Vehicle. I have never had to use chains because of the mulitple choice 4wd options. Nissan could modify the roof rack a bit because the current one limits your options for snow board/ski racks or cargo carriers. I could not just put on a Thule cargo carrier without a lot of aftermarket modifications. Put a Billet Grill and custom wheels on this thing and with the Galaxy Black paint you will definately turn heads. My neighbor has an Armada SE (which motivated me to get one). He however has had problems with the brakes every 5K miles. I think my LE was made after June 05 so I have been lucky. 11K mile on this thing and all I have done is rotate tires and change oil. Gas mileage overall driving is initially...read morehide

- Big, Powerful, Good Looking, Spacious, Quality.
- Gas Guzzler, Small Space behind 3rd seat
Have the 2004 SE-OFF FROAD, nice Radio/CD BOSE System, Leather, Many compartments, muscular looks with style. When towing something, doesn't feel like you are towing anything. Great pick up and control.
It sucks gas, but not bad over all when towing as well. Average 15MPG normal driving, and about 12-13mpg when towing. Large space for all 3 rows, could have made it a little smaller and added more space behind the 3rd seat....read morehide

- Looks, Ride, Comfort, Navagation system, DVD, Sirius, Handling, sun roof
Had the brakes and rotars replaced free due to factory defect. Purchased this vehicle two months ago for my wife now has 4,000 miles. Best SUV we've owned. My sister has a Lexus SUV she paid twice as much and after driving her vehicle the only difference I can tell you of beside the price is the insignia on the hood. All the bells and whistles at half the price of a Lexus! Outstanding....read morehide

- Excellent ride & power. Fully equipped LE has all the options you need and the interior space is top
- Haven't seen any yet. It it hard to park in tight areas, but who cares.
We drove all of the competitors and the Armada LE is by far the best value for the money. Forget American competitors like Ford Expedition & Chevy Tahoe, not even close for comfort, quality, and ride. Other luxury SUV's are overated as well including Lexus GX 470 and BMX X5. If you want a car that rides higher go for those. For my money, the Armada LE fully loaded with navigation, entertainment, and large interior is second to none. The only other consideration was the Infinity QX-56 or Toyota Seqoia. The Armada is basically the same as the Infiniti for less money, and the Seqoia was a disappointment. Nice interior, but if you are going to spend $50K on an SUV, it should have some room and power. The Seqoia has neither. You need to rip out the second and third row seats just to have any space. Armada, Armada, Armada! Nissan has gotten it right with this truck. It rules the road!...read morehide
