Love the car. I've owned it for two months now and I've read the other reviews by owners. Here is my take:
Gas mileage- there are a number of reviews that complain of MPG that is not book, however MPG performance is relative. The car has three different performance modes, Econo, Normal, Sport and the car can have a manual or automatic transmission. Your MPG can very widely depending upon certain combinations above, PLUS, what speed you drive, etc. Also, some owners may be confused by the MPG readout (as I was initially). The car shows the driver a readout of the current AVERAGE MPG based on all the driving that's been done since that readout was last reset. To get an accurate gauge of say highway mileage, you'd have to reset the readout upon entering the highway and then take a reading after some time on the highway to get a realistic number.
What is true is this. I have the automatic trans. When I measure MPG it is based on Normal mode only and on average 5 MPH over the posted speed limit. In this mode the MPG is as good as the manufacturer states. My last trip on the highway, after 20 minutes I was averaging 34 MPG, with the cruise control set at 68 MPH the entire time. If I look at combined mileage, that is, my 20 minute highway commute and local driving around my office/home, its 26 MPG.
The seats are extremely comfortable (I'm 6'2"). My kids are gown and gone so the interior space is perfect for my needs. I split the seats and my golf clubs fit nicely on one side and still leave me room. Its easy to get in and out of because of its SUV height. If I'm feeling "sporty" I simply press a button and this thing will take off quick and make things in the rearview mirror fade in the distance. Corners really well. So easy to park! Interior is well done with good simple controls.
The only minor down side has been the blue tooth voice recognition. It almost never responds correctly when I ask to CALL a name in my contact list. My Plantronics headset is no better at it either. I notice that my girlfriends voice works better so maybe it's my lower male tone. When I get time I will go to the dealer to see if they have an idea to improve this....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

I love my Juke even with the gas milege not so hot. It is great going over the mountains and leaving others in the dust. I don't even need to put sport mode on and it is powerful enough. It has been a fun ride. For now I will keep it. I did change my gas to premium. I didn't know that.

- Pros
- Unique look, a blast to drive, options included
- Cons
- gas mileage

I will start out with the cons, because when car buying for myself, thats where I started. This car has a small gas tank, and has a turbo engine....so its not going to get the great gas mileage you would expect, but, I get pretty decent mileage out of mine (really depends on how you drive the car, some people are heavy on the petal, etc) The last negative I have is that I bought the first year model, as with ALL cars in the first year, there will be unexpected problems.
As for the gas, lets straighten something out here, ANY CAR with a turbo engine is going to need premium gas. I hate reading comments like "omg I didn't know," I am sorry to say you didn't do your proper research when shopping for cars, if you either didn't ask, or didn't know. And if you read the manual, it says that it is "recommended," not "required."
As for the pros, well I love my Juke, but I will simply say the best characteristic of the car is that it is one of the most unique cars on the road, and you get a lot of questions/comments. If you hate cookie cutter cars, then this one is perfect. I live in Maine, and lets say anywhere I go I see plenty of people staring, espcially on the highway. I get about every other car that goes by with at least one person looking back....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
