I traded in a 2004 Murano (125K) for a new 2009 Murano. The 04's trans started acting up. My 09 required major maintenance at 50K miles and was in the shop for 11 days due to lack of parts. My 09 (62K miles) is now in the shop for a new radiator hose. Sounds easy...right? Wrong! The part is nowhere to be found in the US and needs to be ordered from Japan. The estimate is around the 3rd week of Sept. I had to rent a car. I already told Nissan USA they better pay for the rental.
I have a love/hate relationship with this auto. If you decide to purchase a new Murano, make sure you purchase the extended warranty. You most likely will need it at some point in the future....read morehide

I purchased my 2003 NIssan Murano used. I've had 3 transmissions in the past 2 years. They are under warranty until 2013 or 120,000 miles BUT who wants to keep taking time off work or renting another car for weeks at a time while NIssan replaces the transmission with a remanufactured one!?! My next car will be a Toyota or Honda!...read morehide

- very comfortable
- expensive when things go wrong
Purchased As Used
This is the best and worst vechicle I have owned. I love it because it is comfortable, spacious, and has enough pep. But when it came to getting the tires and brakes done it cost over $1,000 because of the 18in tires. And the vechicle just hit its 4 year mark and everything is going wrong with it.

- only had for 3 weeks, loving it so far
- none so far
great looks, comfortable leather seats, love Bose stereo systems. Traded in my 2008 Rogue what a difference. If you really want the Murano but decide to buy the Rogue for better fuel less price DONT DO IT. There is no comparsion to the two. I was dissappointed in the Rogue. Noisey, blindspots CVT problems new tranny put in. I get about the same gas mileage with the Murano averageing 21-22 gallons. Glad I made the change. Should of went with my first choice. Would have saved money$....read morehide

- Nice ride, good fuel economy, interior is simply perfect, push button start
- I haven't found one yet.
I looked at several cars before making the decision to buy the 2009 Murano. I am very pleased with the ride, the comfort of the interior, the sound system and the dvd package. I love this car sooooo much, I have often thought of ways to sleep in this car. If you are considering a midsize SUV, I say start and stop with the NIssan Murano. No need to look any further, it is cheaper than all the luxury vehicles in it's class and you still get a luxurious SUV....read morehide

- WELL when I brought the car I was happy with over all
- Now for the bad don"t know where to begin too rough of ride
Well I will start with the gas tank brought my Murano in spring of 2006 was pretty happy with it until I was told in about a year time that I need a gas tank sensor wihich cost about $500 dollar to fix.. Nissan seem to not see that it has a defect and they don"t see that for there driver seat which will break off the track which is another $500 to fix..
I have brought two Nissan vehicle and was very happy with it but when I brought this one and I can say I am (NOT SATISFY) $36200 for it..Good luck with it !!!!!!...read morehide

- highway is about 22 mpg
- ride is commenaurate with a vehicle far from the ground
CVT Transmission is great it descends hills without constant braking with great throttle control. The BOSE stereo shouts. Best crossover vehicle I drove. The BMW X3 couldnt compete with test drives I took of these two vehicles. Price is equitable with what you get in this package. The V6 has gobs of torque for all types of terrain.
Tne fact that its not a truck platform like most SUV's is a big plus for handling....read morehide

- Great vehicle. Solid feel, plenty of power, smooth quiet ride, good mileage for an AWD vehicle.
- Tire pressure monitoring system, headrests, rain sensing wiper system.
I love this new vehicle. I've got 700 miles on it and have enjoyed almost every minute. The ride is smooth and quiet and the feel is solid. I sit up high. Visibility isn't as good as a minivan, but nothing to complain about, you just have to know where to look. Satellite radio with the Bose speakers is fantastic. The push button start is a kick and I like the fact that I never have to take a key out of my pocket. Seating is comfortable (except for the headrests). Blue tooth is a piece of cake. You talk just as though someone was sitting next to your rather than monkeying with a phone while driving. A great safety feature.
A couple of imperfections. The rain sensitive wiper system has a mind of its own. I'd prefer an old fashioned intermittant wiper switch. The headrests are tilted too far forward, always hitting me in the back of the head (took them out an put them in backwards, much better), and the tire pressure monitoring system doesn't display current tire pressure like many domestic cars do, go figure....read morehide
