2008 Nissan Pathfinder

- looks, exterior & interior. expected gas mlge 16 in town 20 on trips.
- A liitle rough on bumps. Viibration problem.
Purchased As Used
Took car to dealer today to fix transfer case leak. Problem fixed. I also mentioned getting a vibration in the steering wheel when stopped and in drive. Gets worse when you turn on A/C. The mechanic said that this is normal for the V6, 4.0 liter engines and that even the newer models have the same vibration. Live with it or trade it in on anything but a Pathfinder or cehicle with V6, 4.0 liter engine....read morehide

- 17.1 in the city (Not bad) 22 on the Hwy, ok... Love all the bells and Whistles
- Sometimes rides more like a truck, Gear Shifting sometimes rough (thus 4 star in performance rating)
This is the 3rd Pathfinder I have had. I got one of the first 2005 LE 4x4 in late 2004 and loved it! My wife was sideswipped while she was 6 months pregnant and forced into oncoming traffic. She was able to correct and jump back over the median without any injury to herself or our child. Impressive! We liked that it was so capable so much that at the end of the lease we returned it and picked up the 2008 LE 4x2 (didn't need a 4x4 in sub-urban Atl).
Well, 3 weeks after I picked up the 2008, I was hit head on by a drunk driver! The pathfinder flipped and rolled (Total Loss, still had dealer tags!) Thankfully, I was not with my family but with two friends. We all had our seatbelts on and the air curtains all went off... All three of us walked away from the wreck!! The Pathfinder's safety features worked flawlessly and saved my life in particular (Driver Seat took the brunt of the damage) Aside from injuries sustained from being tossed around... unfortunately requiring surgery, I truly believe I would have been killed in this accident had it not been for the safety features of the LE. So, I replaced it with another one just like the first... Black 2008 4x2 LE with the Rusett interior, Nav and DVD... Very Sharp, completely happy with this vehicle....read morehide

- Comfort, ride, quiet, roomy, space
- the V6 could use more torque.
I have a 2005 LE V6 fully loaded. I love the car and everything about it. If there is something I'd want it would be more torque with the engine. I think the new V8 option has taken care of this issue.

- Good looks, back up camera
- Road noise, tight second and very tight 3rd row seat, transmission
Bought mine LE V6 4X2 in October 070and I traded it in December 07. I had the chance to drive a friend's 05 on a 400 mile trip and I really liked it. Once I got mine I found out that it was not useful for my everyday life. I have a grandbaby and once you put her carseat in only one adult can fit comfortably in the back with her. The 3rd row seat is not usable for any adult. My daughter had a tight fit and she only weighs 104lbs.! My transmission clunked right at 40 mile an hour. I took it in and was told that that was normal and if there were something wrong that it would be covered by the warranty. Well that was not a good answer for me since I have friends with Pathfinders and none of their clunk at 40 miles per hour!. So I traded it in on a Sequoia which was much larger and only gets 1 mpg less than the 17mpg I was averaging with the Pathfinder....read morehide

- power, GPS, sound system,
- fuel economy, back seat legroom. noise
Overall I was not impressed with this vehicle. There is still no legroom for adults in any but the front seats. Power? It's there but you would expect the top of the line to be quieter as well. Handling was better than my 2005 but not by that much. Gas Mileage!!!! I would have thought that by now Nissan would have at least come out with a hybrid vehicle. Also service seems to have dropped of because they don't seem to have parts for the 2008's. If I had it to do over again I would have looked elsewhere. They also still have those fragile cupholders in the storage console for the rear seats. One kick from an active kid and it's useless. The saving grace was the GPS and the DVD and audio system. If I could do it all over again I don't think I would have stayed with Nissan on this one....read morehide

- nice looking, nice interior
- TRANSMISSION IS HORRIBLE
Bought the top of the line LE and had transmission problems from the start of the purchase. Nissan doesnt back their products, they hide behind the truth that their transmissons dont perform. I will never buy a Nissan again.

- Smooth Drive, interior functionality, keyless entry, bluetooth
- Transmission Rough, old technology in Electronics, poor seat configuration
This is a nice looking SUV that drives smoth but the transmission is a little rough, I didnt list gas mileage as a con as it is a SUV.
The Bluetooth, voice recognition system and hard drive all work well.
Where I was dissapointed was in the rest of the Navi package, the GPS is slow to respond, uses old technology, you still have to pick sections of the country you want to use and for any of you who have been using GPS units for a long time you know what I mean. The unit also does not give me as much detail as my 399 dollar garmin. Also with the premium audio system dont be fooled in thinking you are buying a Bose radio, CD player or Speakers, you are not. The only thing Bose did was layout where the speakers should go, if you have any questions on this please contact your nearest bose dealer. The sound is of less quality than I was expecting but I do like have the XM radio and traffic built in. Also before you buy make sure the seat configuration work for you. It is a little different. If I had to do it all over again I would still buy the pathfinder but without the navi package, i would do that myself and go somewhere that uses high end electronics and have that installed....read morehide

- powerful v6,style and design, 3rd row seat,rearview camera.
- Engine noise,tranmission problem...
Tranmission not smooth shifting at 30 to 45 mph, that really annoying when driving in city.I'm not too hard on gas pedal nor baby it either but it's engine too loud when depart.
Hope Nissan can improve steering wheel more better and tranmission more smoother.Other than that it a good SUV inside ans out....read morehide

- good looks, back up camera
- Can't get bluetooth without getting the $2000 Nav system
After being a long time Toyota family. (4 Camrys, Sequoia,Highlander, Tacoma, Avalon), I traded in my Avalon for this Nissan and I love it!. I bought the LE V6 with nothing added but carpet mats and sunroof deflector. It rides nice (for a truck). I like the 3rd row seat (even though it's small) for occasional use. I'm getting about 20MPG with mixed highway/city driving. We looked at the 4Runner but it looks like it's about due for a redesign. The Explorer didn't even come close and we get XPlan pricing! If you're in the market for a midsize SUV take a look at this one....read morehide

- Great and easy Nav, interior super, the bose sound system is great, I have the V-6 good MPG
- None so far.
Very happy with the 2008 Pathfinder, drives great and the V-6 has good gas mileage. The LE has very comfortable leather seating and plenty of room.
