- Everything! Engine, road noise, reliability, brakes, burns oil, smokes when started
Purchased As New
The only reason I gave this one star is because NO STAR was not an option. I bought my 2006 quest new in May 06 - had issues from almost day one. It has a lot of road noise, constantly goes out of alignment (I can align it and a week later it's out of alignment), it has a lot of vibration in the brakes and the steering wheel, it smokes when started and it burns oil (about 4 quarts between every oil change at 3K miles). Since May 2006, Ive put on 4 sets of brakes, replaced two batteries, one alternator, one air conditioning unit, supplemented 104 quarts of oil between oil changes and am now replacing the engine. Have repeatedly had it in to the nissan dealer because of engine noise, vibration, burning oil, smoking when started...they tell me that there is nothing wrong with it. Got an inspection and a clean bill of health from their mechanics last week and just took it on a road trip. The air conditioner went out and the next day, the engine blew. It has been towed 3 times on this road trip due to dead engine. Nissan is no help at all. This van is a piece of trash. Hated it from day one and do not feel safe driving it. Nissan tells me it's going to cost 6,500 for a new motor (even though for the last 50 thousand miles Ive had it to the shop a dozen times telling them there was an issue). This vehicle has depreicated faster and more than any vehicle Ive ever owned. by the time I replace this motor, pay the tow bills, the mechanic bills, the rental car bills, and the extra nights of lodging (I'm stuck 1800 miles from home) I'm going to be out of pocket over 10,000. I will never buy another Nissan, expecially a quest. I hate this van!
