2003 Nissan Sentra User Reviews
- $3,160 - $3,736
- Has never completly broken down or left me stranded
- Refusal of Nissan to admit and fix problems noted during first months of owning
Purchased As New
When I purchased my Sentra, brand new, it had a bad water pump. After Nissan fixed it, a belt squeeked. Nissan has replace belt 5 times (5) to fix this, but has never attempted adjusting placement of water pump. It was also concidered a problem that could not be duplicated several times when brought in during scheduled appointments for this. It was not until I drove into the shop with the belt squeeling one day that they finally STARTED trying to fix squeel. But, the mechanics never figured out or corrected the problem, even after replacing the belt so many times. Belt still squeeks (it is 2011) and is worn in an odd spot. Also, I have reported that, after initial start of day, car cranks and cranks before starting. Every time Nissan has checked this (started checking this in 2003), they responded with "can not duplicate". Was told many times to turn key and wait before starting. As if I hadn't tried this every time I started my car since purchasing in 2003! Had car in body shop this year, FINALLY Nissan reported to me that my car has a "hard start" (no big surprise that once car is no longer under warranty, Nissan finally admits the problem I have reported since year 1). Nissan still will not fix problem at their expense, even though problem was reported all along. When first purchased, moldy smell noted when heater ran in the moist mornings. Another thing that Nissan could "not duplicate" since year one. I was sent a servay one year, and reported all problems. Nissan responded by sending me a letter telling me that my car was the wrong model, and I never should have received the survey. Never had any other correspondence regarding reported problems. It let me know exactly the value I hold in the eyes of Nissan. I have spoken to many 2003 Sentra owners, and by checking on- line, I have realized that Nissan has denied the starting issues from day one. I am very disappointed that Nissan does not stand behind their own product, would never recommend buying from a company that refuses to fix their own product....read morehide
