- Pros
- Good fuel economy, Reliable grocery getter.
- Cons
- It looks feminine, bore to drive, bad A/C,slips easy in the winter

I owned this car for a year(from 20 miles I traded it in with 13,000 miles on it) and I was pleased with the mechanical reliability of this car however, the amenities(weak A/C and etc), winter performance, lack of driving thrill, and the exterior looks drove me to trade it in. My girlfriend really didn't care to much for it either she called it a "geek chick car" I'll admit it looks girly but I wasn't concerned about that until I really got into cars. I ended up trading it in and getting a 2008 Chevy Silverado pickup with a 4.8L V8 and I haven't looked back since. But that's me....read morehide

I have a 2009 Blue Versa. This car comes in two shades of blue, the cute blue and the ugly bright blue (hope you didn't select THAT one). Anyway, for me mileage is great! But now that I think about it after about the 3,000mile mark IS when it got better!? I am a female that drives looong distance to work every day M-F. I learned the hard way that this car has NO POWER. I beg of you, do not pull out in front of a truck, bus, or lil' ol' lady driving her Caddy! When I am merging onto the highway, it's not pretty...but that's the major thing. I have had no mechanical issues until today (June 2010). I found mold growing on the front carpets!! That's why I am here searching for problems from other owners...now where I live it's HUMID, so I am hoping that maybe with me running the air, then sealing the car windows when I exit, PLUS covering my windows with those useless cardboard window shades, maybe I am creating a science class project without realizing??? Or maybe there is a coolant leak? I will check the levels in the morning. I hope it's nothing major but write to me if you had wet carpets in your car. I did not get the aux feature so I cannot play my awesome ipod with my awesome tunes, but that's okay, I listen to talk radio in the car and my podcast during my weekend walks.
P.S. and of course I had just paid off the car at about $14,000 when the economic crisis hit and these cars went for about $9,000!!! oi!...read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Tons of room, inexpensive, Nissan Quality
- Cons
- Clunky transmission, MPG could be better

I purchased the base 6 speed 1.8S model new with 7 miles on it and I am currently at 6000 and so far it is one of the best vehicles I've owned (I have owned 20 vehicles including hondas and toyotas and the build quality surpasses them all)
Interior:
The interior of this car is quite confortable, but I do see people's issue with no center console, the fit-n-finish is excellent and all components are within easy reach. The interior space is huge for such a small car.
Exterior:
I personally like the styling of this carand the paint holds up great to rock chips.
Performance:
The 1.8 engine in this car is pretty peppy (unlike the 1.6 in the sedan version) however this car is a little too rev-happy for it to get much above 30 mpg which I believe is a downside. The car handles ok but gets squirrley in wind but thats because it comes with junk Continental ProContact tires (once the tires are toast I will be chaning brands)
Drivetrain:
I bought the 6 speed version because it makes the car more fun to drive however shifting gears in clunky.
Overall:
This is a better built car than the Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris, has more room, more power and is cheaper (I spent 13k for this car and that includes 7 year bumper to bumper, 3 year maintance, 5 year paint and 3 year windshield warranties) I have no doubt this car will last as long as it's "grandfather" (A 1983 Nissan Pulsar Hatch 4 door w/ 220,000 miles and counting- yea there is such a thing)...read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

- Roomy, comfortable, love the the smart ket feature!
- Cons
- Start problem. New car with brand new battery, failed to start couple times.

Purchased in Aug. 2007. A SL model. Overall it's a great car. The only problem is that it won't start if I don't dirve it for a week or two. The battery is new. So I don't know what's the glitch.

- Pros
- small size great for NYC street parking
- Cons
- lots of fog
Purchased As Used
I love this but it gets really foggy every time it rains and when the temperature drops. Have to buy an anti fog solution to wipe on the windows to help me not get into an accident

I've had my auto trans 1.8S Hatchback for over a year. Nearly 30K miles and not a problem to be had. Mileage does differ depending upon the season. In summer I average 31 in town and almost 36 on the road. Winter it can dip to 26 in town and 32 on the road. Comfortable ride and has a passing gear at 80mph. Roomy and no complaints from those riding in the back seat. I have observed no quality issues. I use it mainly for around town with the occasional trip. I'm impressed....read morehide

I have to say my car was awesome. I was t-boned at an intersection earlier this month. The other driver was going 35 mph. My side airbags allowed me to walk away without a scratch. I am currently looking for another!!!!

This is my first Nissan, I love it. It is sporty yet practical and for the price, I honestly could not have gotten a better deal. I enjoy the ability to haul things that I could not using a sedan ( I have the hatchback). It has plenty of leg room and headroom. I just wish I had gotten the upgraded stereo with MP3, otherwise it is a great little car that gets great gas mileage....read morehide

I traded in my Ford Explorer with the "Cash for Clunkers" program, and decided on the Versa after an extensive search for cars within my price range, and my personal needs (4 door, a/c). I got the base model, and with maybe an extra $500 dollars, I had a CD/Ipod stereo installed and power locks (Best Buy). The car runs great and has a TON of security/high tech stuff in it that comes standard. I had to read the manual to understand how all the safety stuff worked. Obviously the MPG is great, and a real upgrade from the 16 mpg I'm used to. I have no complaints....It's my first Nissan, and I am a fan already. Hope this helps :)...read morehide
